* I awoke with a start, I felt as though I was being watched. But didn’t sense anyone or anything in my room. * Is someone here? A spirit? I’m new at this, but I’m trying to learn how it works. * I felt foolish talking to the dark, but I couldn’t shake the feeling something was here. The clock on my night stand read 2:00, I was still tired, but needed a drink. After a couple minutes of silence, I crawled out of bed and headed towards the bathroom I shared with Kimiko. After relieving myself, I walked down the hall to the steps and began to descend them when I heard my mother’s voice. ~Kaiyo, my daughter, something evil is coming, stay strong and listen to your heart.~ I heard my sister giggle and looked up to see where it was coming from. I was surprised to see the light was still on in Julian’s office. I approached the door and was about to knock when I heard Julian’s voice. ~ She’s a nuisance and not blood, Kimiko. It would be easy to let Senichi get to her when he comes. ~ I shook my head not believing what I heard, when I heard Takahiro’s voice. ~ I agree, we don’t need her. We could get her to put Kimiko on her bank account so if “something” should happen to her, the money will go to Kimiko. ~ We’re going to have to do this carefully, slowly. We can’t have her sensing anything is off.~ I stifled a cry when I heard my sister’s voice. It hurt the worst to hear her plotting against me. She has always been my rock. ~ Well don’t forget about me in all of this, you all are putting me through a lot of shit to pretend like I’m keeping her safe and I’m interested in her. * I couldn’t believe my ears. Reese was in on this too? After that kiss tonight? He vowed I was the only one for him. I couldn’t listen to anymore. I stumbled away from Julian’s den and to the front door. I put my shoes on, unarmed the alarm, stepped outside and quietly closed the door behind me. I wiped away the tears as I walked down the steps and took off running towards the woods. How could they feel that way. They were supposed to be my family, the people who meant the most to me. And Reese, how could he say that? I really thought that kiss and his words meant something. I was ready to give him all of me. Thunder rumbled off in the distance and lightning streaked across the sky. I ran hard as tears continued to stream down my face. Tree’s swayed and limbs whipped at me from the force of the winds and approaching storm. Tripping over a downed branch, I screamed, landing hard on my face. Laying there in the fetal position, I covered my ears as the voices from earlier tonight at the bar started screaming in my mind. ~You’re a nobody! ~ You won’t even be missed. ~ No, Kaiyo! Listen to …. ~ He’ll never love you! ~ Just run, Kaiyo. You’re not wanted here. ~ Listen to your heart, Kaiyo. ~ Rain began to come down hard, I laid on my back and let it drench my face. I tried to concentrate on my mother's voice, but the other voices drowned her out. Suddenly a figure stood over me, I blinked my eyes and a female was staring back at me. * “You almost made this too easy, little one.” * She laughed and then kicked me hard. I cried out and tried to protect my mid section, but then she kicked me in the back of the head.Darkness began to take me, but not before I noticed a lady dressed in white She was beautiful and shielded herself with an umbrella from the rain, I wondered if she was an angel, here to lead me away from this ordeal. *

I had gone to bed early, tired from trying to figure out where the witch was hiding. I had been in McGregor for a few days and the magic trail was all over the town as if it were only concentrating on a single individual. But whenever I got close the magic would split and shoot off in different directions. It was as if the magic was trying to confuse me. I felt defeated due to lack of sleep, working on the case for Vincent and looking for the witch. With a yawn, I blew out the candles before heading to my room. I took a fast shower and headed to bed. My eyes snapped open as a loud clap of thunder lite up the sky and I felt it and I could hear the rain hit the top of the house. Sitting up in bed I felt a powerful spirit flow over me. ~Help her.~ The words kept repeating in my head. They felt urgent as if someone’s life depended on me hearing the words and doing something to help. I jumped out of bed and moved to my dresser, pulling out some yoga pants and a t-shirt. Once I was dressed I ran downstairs, grabbed one large white candle and looked out of my window. The rain was coming down in buckets. I opened the closet and grabbed a raincoat and one of the umbrellas that were in a basket my the door. I was grateful someone had left them in the house. Grabbing my keys, I opened the door and stepped out onto the porch before walking down the steps and into the rain. I didn’t know where I was going but I knew I had little time to find the person that was in trouble.
ReplyDeleteI made my way to my Jeep opening the door and disarming the alarm as I looked around for the shifter that was patrolling the area but I didn’t see or sense anyone. It was strange, I didn’t sense anyone anywhere. I started the engine and slowly started to drive down the road as the windshield wipers fought the heavy rain. It didn’t take long for me to get to the center of town and I was hoping to see someone patrolling but as I looked around no one was in sight. Continuing on the the police station I could feel magic but not the one I was tracking so I kept driving. I drove past the businesses as if I were being guided. The rain was falling much heavier now and I could barely see in front of the Jeep. Shaking my head I finally pulled over and turned off the engine along with the lights. I picked up the white candle and lit it placing it in the cup holder. Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and tried to concentrate. I needed a spell to help me track the magic and the no good witch that was causing this. Holding up my hands, I thought about what I needed before speaking the words. Light the night and look around. Someone’s lost and must be found. Make it bright for me to see. Find the bad magic so mote it be.
My hands started to warm and I opened my eyes. Light sparkled from my hands but my left hand was brighter than the right. Using my powers, I lowered my window and watched as the light flew out of the window and went in two directions. The dimmer light went back the way I came and I knew it was heading toward the police station. The brighter light flew off in front of me and disappeared into the woods. I jumped out of the Jeep and ran after the light as fast as I could, all the while I chanted a protection spell. I followed the light for over a mile when it went out. For a moment I thought my spell had failed but then I heard a females voice up ahead of me. “You almost made this too easy, little one.”
I moved forward as fast as I could and watched as the witch I was hunting kicked another female that was on the ground. I was about to hit the bitch with my plasma blast when I heard a noise coming from my right. Turning quickly I saw three of the enforcers I had seen around town coming towards me. Their eyes were glassed over and I could feel the magic coming off of them and I knew the witch had them under her control. As two of the males moved to block my way one started to shift as the third male moved in and picked up the female off of the ground. “You’re too late! Have fun fighting off the shifters.”
ReplyDeleteShe laughed as she started walking away, the third shifter following her. “I wish I could stay and watch but I have a schedule to keep. Oh, you may not want to hurt them but they want to hurt you.” She was still laughing as they disappeared into the woods. The wolf circled me as the other shifter growled and shifted. I looked around as the rain continued to fall in heavy buckets. That bitch was right, she had control of the shifters minds and they weren’t responsible for their actions but if I didn’t do something they would kill me. Focusing my energy into plasma balls as they continued to circle me, I waited for them to strike. They stopped and I slowly moved back trying to keep them in my sight. It happened so fast I didn’t have time to think. The first one jumped into the air and I threw the first plasma ball hitting him in the side and knocking him back. But before I could breathe the other wolf growled and jumped. I hit him with the one plasma ball and knocked him into the first wolf. They both tumbled back and hit a tree and they were out cold. I relaxed a bit as I looked at the two wolves and shook my head. I glanced in the direction the witch and the other shifter went as they carried the female away and knew if I followed I’d find the shifter knocked out and the other two gone. I need help and I needed it now. Sucking in a deep breath I cautiously moved away from the downed shifters and made my way back towards town. By the time I made it back to my Jeep it was morning and I was soaked to the bone. I started the engine and turned on the heater when I heard the voice in my head again. ~Please find her. She needs her family. They will help.~ I guess it was time to finally meet with the Alpha and get to the bottom of this mess. And when I did that little witch bitch was going to wish I had never come to McGregor, North Dakota.
* +Julian Takumi, +Takahiro Yanahi DPI and I sat at the table talking over breakfast. Taka had moved in and the transition had gone smoothly. It was freeing, not fighting my feelings for him anymore. I loved him so much and couldn't wait to see what our future hold. I looked out the window, the rain had come to a stop and the sun was shining through the last of the passing clouds. We had had quite the storm through the night. Looking at the clock on the wall, I knew that +Reese Wallace would be showing up soon to pick up +Kaiyo Nakatomi and was surprised she wasn't down here yet. * I better check on Kaiyo, she's usually down here by now. * I stood and hurried upstairs. I knocked lightly on Kaiyo's door and then opened it. * Kaiyo, are you ill this morning? What's taking you so long? * I asked as I walked into her room. Her bed wasn't made yet so I looked towards the bathroom, guessing she was just running behind, but the door was open and the light was off. * Kaiyo? * I checked her closet, she was no where. I left her room, walking down the hallway to the stairs and yelled for her * Kaiyo! * Julian met me at the bottom of the stairs. * "She's not upstairs?" * I shook my head and a feeling of uneasiness set in. I checked the bathroom and living room on the main level. Taka approached me. * "Maybe she left early for class this morning?" She would have said something. * I knew something was off. * I'll call Reese. * I went to grab my phone off the counter in the kitchen when someone rang the doorbell. I looked at Julian and Taka, the three of us stared at each other for a second. Julian set his coffee down and went to the door. Taka held onto me as Julian opened the door wide. I gasped as fear creeped in. I tried hard not to think the worst, but Senichi was the only reason I could think of that would cause Kaiyo to become missing. Reese stood there smiling, as the three of us frowned at him. It was obvious that Kaiyo wasn't with him. * "I take it Kaiyo isn't with you?" * Julian asked him. Reese's smile faded. * "What, no. What's going on?" * I whimpered and Taka held me close to him, I heard Julian's voice. * "She's missing."
ReplyDeleteI was so excited this morning. After kissing Kaiyo last night, I knew things would be different between us now. A good different. I no longer had to hold my feelings back. I was hoping she would feel the same. My morning routine went by so fast, its like I woke up and was done. Making my way into ton first, I grabbed us breakfast sandwiches and coffee. But I also grabbed orange juice and some extra breakfast goodies. I was not exactly sure what she liked to eat so I grabbed a ton. That will all change. I was determined to find out what she liked. All her favorites, colors, music, shows, just everything. She was young, very young and I was not, but I would not let that stop me. Packing up the food, I looked at the three medium bags and hoped I did not go over board. Driving the short distance to her home, I wondered if I should talk to her sister Kim and her brother Julian. I mean she is mine and i'm sure they both know it but maybe I should just check with them since she is so young and all. Was I jumping the gun? I mean it was one kiss but once its out there is no going back. Parking my truck. I got out and stopped. I could smell her scent. Even after all the rain from last night. I smiled and hurried up to ring the door bell. When Julian answered I smiled wide. "I take it Kaiyo isn't with you?" Julian asked me and my smiled faded. What, no. What's going on? *I heard Kim whimper and panic started to flow all through me. I barely heard Julian speak. "She's missing." Missing? What do you mean missing? Did she leave after I dropped her off yesterday? Julian shook his head. "No, she went up to her room did not come out since." I went full on guard mode.* May I? He moved aside and I stepped inside. Was there a break in? Is anything out of place? I asked looking around. I had to keep my head or I was going to lose it. Her scent was all over the place a I ran up the stairs with Julian on my tail. Room? He pointed and I went in searching around. Anything out of place or taken? He looked around and shook his head. "No." I sighed and turned to him. Did she talk to you or Kim? She had an episode at work yesterday. Something about hearing spirits ad she was freaking out. I calmed her then drove her home. Looking around her room I swallowed hard. Julian? She would not leave would she? I turned to him right as Kim and Takahiro i'm assuming came into the bedroom.
ReplyDeleteI looked at Reese as I thought about his question. Would she leave? I truly didn’t believe she would, but I really didn’t know her like Kimiko and Takahiro knew her. Turning, I looked at my sister, she stood close to her mate as he rubbed her back. We needed to get out there and find her but I didn’t know where to start looking. I turned back to Reese and shook my head. I’m really not sure if she would leave or not. You said she got upset by what the spirits were saying to her? What do you mean exactly? Reese seemed to think about it for a moment then he started to pace. “Well, it was as if she was arguing with herself, but I can’t be sure. Fuck I should have come in with her last night and made sure she spoke with you about it. But I didn’t want her to push me away again. We were finally starting to connect. She finally stopped pushing me away.” I nodded as I watched him pace. I could tell the really cared for Kaiyo. He probably already loved her. As I watched him, I thought about the enforcers and wondered if the they had changed shifts yet. Reese, did you see or hear the enforcer when you got here? He thought for a minute then shook his head. “No, I didn’t see or hear anyone out there.” *That was strange. They usually showed themselves when someone came to the house. Without a word I walked passed Taka and Kim and was down the stairs and out the door. I heard the others as they followed me outside. Rich? I need some information. No one came out of the woods. Rich, are you out there? I turned and looked at the others. Something’s wrong! I think we need to get to town and find out why the enforcer isn’t here and get a search together to find Kaiyo. With those words I hurried inside grabbing my keys and headed for my car. I didn’t have to ask if anyone was coming with me. I watched as Reese got behind the wheel of his truck and Taka was in the passenger side of my car while Kim got in the back. It was time to find Kaiyo.
ReplyDeleteWhat in the hell is going on? Kaiyo is gone, run off..or worse. The enforcer is missing. * I clenched my jaw as Kim reached forward and squeezed my shoulder. I patted her hand, I knew she was scared to death that something terrible had happened to her sister. Julian drove fast, his anxiety showing as well. I felt almost useless, not even knowing where to look or what to ask. I knew one thing for sure. If Senichi was here, or his minions we'd know. Their presence wouldn't go unnoticed. But, if this was something else. I shook my head. We had to find Kaiyo and keep her safe. Julian pulled up to the police station, Reese parking beside us as we all got out. I took Kimiko's hand as we headed inside to get help and, hopefully some answers.*
ReplyDeleteI drove like a crazy person as I made my way back to town, all the while hoping to see an enforcer so I could report what I’d seen and get help. But as I drove through town I realized that I hadn’t seen one enforcer out in the woods. Well, except for the three that had helped that little bitch. I bet she thought she’d done something great by getting the young female away from me? Well, this wasn’t over, not by a long shot. And when I saw her again, she’s going to wish she had never messed with me. Shaking my head I turned the corner and pulled into the parking lot of the police station as two other vehicles sped in from the opposite direction. Doors flew open on both vehicles and one male jumped out of the first one and ran up the steps. Three doors opened on the second vehicle and two males and a female got out and they followed the first male. I turned off the engine and was grateful the rain had stopped because even with my heater going for the short time I was still soaking wet. I got out of my Jeep and headed up the steps wondering what happened with the four people ahead of me and why I could smell fear coming from them as I walked into the station. I heard their voices and stopped just inside the door. “Has anyone heard from any of the night enforcers?” One male asked and I watched as the female named Bernice spoke up. Jonny called in and said they found Mat and Carlos unconscious deep in the woods and still in wolf form.” Two more males came down the hall and I could feel the power coming off them, but the one that spoke next had more power and I knew he was the Alpha. “What the fuck is going on? Why hadn’t they reported in when they first noticed something was wrong?” I stepped forward then knowing I needed to tell them what I knew when one of the males I saw running inside spoke up. “Beck, this may have something to do with the fact that Kaiyo is missing.” The Alpha spun around and growled. “What the fuck are you talking about, Julian?” The female the witch took must be the one they were talking about. The one called Julian opened his mouth to say something when I stepped forward. Excuse me! Everyone turned and looked at me. I think I have the answers you all are looking for. Beck stepped up, his hands on his hips and looked down at me. “And you are?” His power was radiating off of him. I cleared my throat and thought of my nephew, Demitri, who was as strong willed as Beck. I looked up at him as I stood my ground. I am Loretta Blackstone and there’s another witch in your town. I turned to look at the beautiful female that stood in the embrace of (I tilted my head) her mate. I felt her emotions and knew right away who she was to the female that was taken. Looking at each male in turn, I felt her brother and her future mate. I turned back to the Alpha and said. I was looking for the source of the magic in your town and followed the one that lead away from town. It was the strongest and not as weak as the one coming from your basement here in the station. I was about to continue when the other male standing next to the Alpha spoke. “Magic, coming from this building?” Yes, it’s weak but it’s here. It feels like it’s been on the female a long time. His mouth opened to say something but the female spoke. “What do you know about Kaiyo? Do you know where she is?” No! All I know is I followed the magic and found the witch and three wolf shifters. I tried to help her but the witch was controlling the shifters. Two attacked me while the third left with the witch. I’m sorry I couldn’t do more. I came back here to get help but I’m afraid that it may be hard to find them. The witch is strong and will try her best to block her location from me. I can find her but I’m going to need help when I find her again.
ReplyDeleteThe female growled as she spoke. “You find my sister and you will have all the help you need.”
