* Kaiyo and I were quiet on the drive back to the house, Julian followed close behind in his own car. I knew we were doing the right thing by moving out of the house we shared with Takahiro, but my heart wasn't in the same place as my mind. * "You're making the right choice, Kim. Taka should have been up front with you." * I nodded as we pulled up to a stop in front of the house. I tried to smile and squuezed Kaiyo's hand. * I know. I just hate putting Julian in the position to take us in. I mean we don't even know each other. What will he do when he learns I can't even cook? * Kaiyo giggled. * "I'm sure we'll survive, Kimiko. Now come on, let's go pack." * We both climbed out of the SUV and waited on Julian. * I could tell he was just as nervous about this as I was. * This shouldn't take long. * Unlocking the door we went inside. Make yourself at home. * Kaiyo and I both went to our rooms, to begin to pack.

I was up before the other female. My body felt revived and full of adrenaline. I couldn't wait to get to the Mcgregor pack and start taking down those assholes. Once I slid on a pair of jeans and the jacket over the stupid cat shirt Brennan gave me, I moved over towards the bed she was still sleeping in and pulled back the sheets and blankets Time to wake up! I shouted happily while she groggily groaned and told me to leave her alone. I started laughing as she reached her arm out blindly for the blanket. Snickering I kept pulling it down off the bed until it landed on the floor. With a loud huff the female put the pillow over her head while grumbling something about me being a bitch. Hell I knew I was one and I had a feeling I had been called it so many times in the past, so its not like it bothered me. It was just before dawn and I wanted to get a head start towards our destination. Brennan, we are so close now. I opened a box of twinkies and started tossing them at prone form. Come on. I am not going to leave you alone until you get your lazy ass out of bed.

* I was cold. It seemed every where I turned was more cold. My stomach growled and I opened my eyes to see if I could gauge the time through the frost covered window. I couldn't tell if it was sunrise or sunset. I laid on the cot, shivering. I tucked my knees up closer to my chest in a bid to harbor the heat I was so desperately losing. The baby shifted and kick within me and I closed my eyes in a small prayer of thankfulness. At least I still had that. Everything else was gone. I wanted no part of whatever this was. I was practically estranged from my family. My mother had been livid when I had mated Eli and I had made the decision to get away. I rarely spoke with Gabe. I texted with Gina and Gillian on occasion. Eli's family had taken me in and they had been accepting and it had been enough. It wasn't that I didn't care. I loved my siblings very much. But for the sake of surviving, scattering away from our overbearing mother had been the theme. I didn't know what this Donovan Wilson expected from me. I'd never let my brother walk into this trap they were trying to set. I tried to remember everything that had been drilled into us from an early age and we were ruled by a filthy Alpha. I must have dozed because I was startled awake when the door banged open. Donovan Wilson filled the doorway, Cantwell hovering behind him. He smiled, flipping on a switch outside of the door. Light flooded the room and hurt my eyes. I blinked him back into focus.

* I drove straight to Gabriel Jericho home. Kristen Bauer sat in stony silence beside me. She didn't want to help me. Caiden and Gina had convinced her. I could still taste her on my tongue; feel her in my arms. Tension roiled off of her in waves. She was committed now to helping. Gracie-Lynn Jericho had been taken and she had nothing to do with this. I was furious, shaking with it. It forced me to move sooner than I wanted, sooner than Gabe or Joel were ready for me too. Chitto Doxtator had been murdered and they were still reeling from that. Now, I had to tell Gabe his baby sister had been taken. I pulled down the lane towards the farmhouse that sat in the middle of beautiful land. A tiger paced in an enclosure and I watched as an orangutan climbed up to see us as I parked. Kristen got out of the truck as if the devil were on her heels. I got out and led her up the steps. I knocked on the door. Bronwyn Jericho opened the door, her expressive eyes not to thrilled to see me.

It was my first official day on the job and Ian and I had just got back from a call about some teenagers hanging in a vacant building. The teens were human, and from the next town over, using the building as a place to drink and party. We’d rounded them up and called the PD in their town and dropped them at the town line into the custody of the sheriff and his deputy. They thanked and assured us that the teens would be taken care of and they wouldn’t be back in the building again. The teens seemed scared for the punishment they would be receiving from their parents who were waiting at the PD for them. Wed finished up the paperwork and were drinking some coffee, when we heard Bernice’s loud voice coming from the front of the building. “You better not break that chair. Beck will have your head.” There was a growl then a female voice that I didn’t recognized say. “Taka, please stop.” I looked at Ian as we both stood and walked down the hall to the front of the building. By then +Beck Hadrian, +Cole Ross, +Slade Michaels and to my surprise Dr. +Julian Takumi stood with the couple +Takahiro Yanahi DPI and +Kimiko Nakatomi DPI. Takahiro was in chains and a younger female was standing next to Kimiko. The guards held onto Takahiro as he tried to get out of their grip. Beck’s growl had the male stilling as he looked at the females. “Let them go. They have nothing to do with this.” Beck got in the males face and growled again before saying. “Move them into the conference room so we can find out what the fuck is going on.” +Ian Holder* and I grabbed Takahiro as Cole and Slade each guided a female as Beck lead the way and Julian brought up the rear. I noticed that Julian was holding a large envelope and wondered if it had anything to do with what was going on. Once the females were seated and Ian and I had seated Takahiro, Beck and Julian took seats then Beck looked at the females and said.* “Why the hell are you in my town and why did he try to kill the doctor? And before you start talking I want you to know that it better be good because if it’s not your dead. I’m getting tired of shifters and their cohorts coming into my town thinking they can do whatever the fuck the want to do with no consequences.” Beck looked at the older female and said. “Talk!”
