I didn't have to drive much longer before my eyes caught sight of a walmart type store. With a right jerk to the steering wheel, I quickly pulled into the parking lot Damn I almost missed seeing that! Brennan yelped as she bounced in the seat when I took the turn too quickly. I couldn't help but laugh. My life was already screwed so what was a little more danger added to it. Once the truck came to a stop I slipped the keys to the vehicle in my jacket pocket before jumping out and strolling to the front door of the store. The other female could either follow or wait in the truck for me. It didn't really matter anyway. I was just going to pick up a few boxes of some blonde type hair dye and stuff them into my pockets. I didn't have any money to buy shit and I sure as hell wasn't going to let anyone catch me. My shoes squeaked slightly as I made my way down isle after isle looking for the products I needed to do my hair. Damn the floors in this place for being so obnoxiously clean which caused my dirty wet shoes to call too much attention to my whereabouts.

* The night was forever long, sleep eluded me. My mind thinking over the information I had gotten out of the letters. Suddenly my nightmare's made more sense. I can't believe Senichi tried to use me as a weapon to kill the one person that could take everything away from him. Who am I kidding, yes I can. That's all I've ever done is taken care of his threats or those that stood in the way of something he wanted. I was a fool, but what choice did I have. After all he made due on his promise, I now believe that it was Senichi who killed my mother, or at the least he had one of his goons do it for him. I tried not to cry anymore, my eyes burned from all the tears. But damn him he has taken so much from me. My biological family, the family that raised me. My eyes moved over to where my sister was asleep on my bed. I was all that +Kaiyo Nakatomi had left and I would do everything I can to protect her. I wasn't sure how things would go with +Julian Takumi. Would he remember me? Or did his memories fade like mine did? Would he even want me in his life after so many years of separation? And then the one person I didn't want to think about came to mind. My heart seized when I thought of +Takahiro Yanahi DPI. I let my guard down around him and let him get to close. A part of me didn't believe that he would actually harm me. Was he that good of a actor? That I didn't pick up on him playing me. I looked at the clock and it read 5:00 in the morning. I was expecting my new car by seven and was hoping to be at the clinic when the doors opened. I'd make sure we got Kaiyo's stitches out and then I would hand Julian the papers from his grandfather, our grandfather. And we would see what happens from there. And then I had to find Takahiro. *

The SUV pulled to a stop in front of the Kurjan head quarters and I watched as the guards on duty stiffened. I shook my head then opened up my senses. When I found *+Dayne Blogis I nodded to Nick and watched as he gave the order for my guards. As one, the doors opened and my guards got out of the vehicles. A moment later Dayne stepped into view. Slowly, my door opened and I stepped out of the vehicle.* "So glad you could make it. For a minute I thought you weren't going to show." I looked at him and wanted to mind blast his ass. I don't have all night, so if you don't bring out +Matre Blogis this instant I'm out of here. I saw a flash of Dayne's fangs before he closed his eyes then opened them and looked at me. "I told you before, he was injured severely and almost died. Did you bring +Jake Craven?" Fuck no! I growled. I told you I wasn't bringing Jake anywhere near this place until I was sure it was safe. "You know I'd never hurt Jake." Do I? For all I know this could be a trap. "Why would I tell you to bring Jake if this were a trap? I've been trying to contact him for weeks. He hasn't returned my calls." That's because his fucking mate is dead and he is in mourning. Growling, Dayne ran a hand through his hair before speaking. "I just told you Matre isn't dead. He's inside in his room and he needs his goddamned mate." Smirking I said. Then let's get this over with. Lead the way. And before you say my guards can't enter your compound, I'll tell you I'm not going in there without backup. Dayne looked at me. "Fine but once you see Matre, I need you to get Jake here." I nodded my agreement then turned to Nick. You know what to do if you don't hear from me in the allotted time frame. Nick nodded and three of the eight guards stepped beside me as I turned back to Dayne. The weapons go in too, so lead on!

* I pulled up to Vincent and Chloe's house and beeped the horn. +Vincent Gaines and I were headed to Minot to pick out our uniforms. It was hard to believe that he and I were going to become LEO's, but by doing this ourselves it kept others out of our town that we wouldn't want learning about our shifting abilities and other powers that some of us possessed. He opened the door, gave Chloe a kiss, she waved at me as he bound down the steps. Tyler came around the corner of the house and they spoke for a minute before Vincent finally climbed into my pickup. * "Hey man, thanks for driving." * I put the pickup into reverse as he put his seat belt on. * No problem, what do you have up your sleeve that you were so insistent that I drive? * I pulled out onto the highway and steered towards Minot. I looked at him and his eyes were full of mirth. *

I stared at the blank teleconference screen and wanted to mind blast the Kurjan leader. I didn't believe what he said. How dare him think I'd believe anything that he told me. From all reports Matre was dead, but why would he contact me? FUCK!!! I wasn't going to tell Jake anything until I knew Dayne spoke the truth. Blowing out a breath I dialed Dayne and as the line connected once more I sent out a blast of my power to let him know who he was dealing with. “What the hell Kyllwood?” Don't you ever think of dismissing me like that again. I'm not some Kurjan you can order around or dismiss as if I were one of your lackey's. Now before I even think about saying anything to Jake about his mate being alive I want proof. I also want to know if you have found that ex of Matre’s. The bastard that broke into Jake's house? Dayne growled and say back in his chair as I finally eased up on my power letting *+Dayne Blogis*** free of the images and waited for him to answer. He growled again and narrowed his eyes at me. For a moment I didn't think he would say anything and I smirked. I have a nation to run and I'm sure you have things that need to be done. So the sooner you talk the sooner you can get to it.

* Closing the door quietly behind me, I grabbed a pillow off the foot of my bed and climbed into the chair that faced the large picture window. It was a clear night and I was sure the stars shined brightly, but I couldn't see them through the tears. +Takahiro Yanahi DPI had betrayed me. I hated myself for crying, I hated myself even more for allowing Taka into my heart and under my skin. I had no idea where to go from here. I couldn't trust Taka, I didn't have a vehicle. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to follow through with this mission anymore. I leaned my head back on the chair and closed my eyes allowing the quiet to lull me to sleep.

* My sister walked into her room and shut the door quietly, if it had been me, I would have slammed it. I knew then that my sister was mad, but she was also heartbroken. It seemed that her feelings for +Takahiro Yanahi DPI ran deeper than I had realized. I was hurting for her, furious that Takahiro would agree to take our lives and now frightened because I didn't know if my sister and I were even safe. After watching my sister fight the other day, it was clear that I didn't know my sister as well as I had thought. I shook out my throbbing hand as I walked into the kitchen and then looked at it. I had forgotten about my stitches, the impact with Taka's chest taking a toll. I took a pain pill and then grabbed a broom to clean up the shards of glass from the broken picture frame.

* I was pissed off as I drove through town. I knew there was some motel close by and I planned on staying there until I could figure this all out. Kaiyo heard my conversation, but didn't know I wasn't planning on hurting her or Kimiko. I slammed my hand against the steering wheel. How was I ever going to get Kim back? Back..she was never mine but fuck, we were so close..How could I explain I had never intended to go aliong with Senichi's plans, that I wanted him dead, not her. I eanted a life with her.* Dammit! That fucker put me in this position now, now I have to kill the doctor . Fuck! * I yelled at the windshield. I pulled into the motel parking lot and parked, the office was open and I got out, went inside and got a room. I didn't have any luggage so I grabbed my coat from the SUV and locked up before entering my room and slammimg the door shut behind me. I had a lot to think about, to figure out before I saw Kimiko again.*

After hours of Brennan driving I volunteered to find us a new vehicle and drive so she could get some rest. We had agreed that stopping for the night in a hotel was probably not a good idea considering I was an escapee. I don't know how I knew how to hot wire a car but I did, and I was pretty damn proud of myself too. Besides who would miss the beat up old piece of shit truck we stole. It looked more like an abandoned vehicle then someone's daily driver. But you never knew. In the hick town we stole it from, it could be a possibility that some old farmer would cry that his betsy was missing. With a hearty laugh I called out to the female to hurry her ass up before someone drove by and caught us. Brennan had been sitting on an old tree stump with a deep frown on her face as she stared at her phone. Tossing her red mane over her shoulder as she looked up at me with a half grin and hustled over to the passenger side of the vehicle. The truck sputtered a few times at first until the engine warmed up. The radio was busted but that didn't stop me from humming happily. You should stop looking so glum. We will find a way to get our revenge. You know I was a pretty goooo... My eyes grew wide as the memory of stealing things popped into my head Hey, I don't believe it! Slamming the palm of my hand on the steering wheel I remember I was a thief. Shit, maybe that's why those bastards killed my mate? You think? A worry frown creased my brow as I briefly looked over at Brennan before turning my attention back to the road

* The sun was just breaking the horizon when I pulled into the parking lot of the police station. It bathed the winter landscape in liquid gold and I admired it as I climbed out of my truck. The police station was dark and quiet, which was what I wanted. I decided to wait a couple of days before questioning Brandy and Michael Harwood. Vincent Gaines hadn't been as patient as he texted me wanting to know when he could put the howling one out of his misery. I could only assume he meant Brady because Michael had been pretty low key. Slade Michaels was working with Vincent on Jordan McCormick's disappearance. I used my key to let myself in and then locked the door behind me. The station was dark and quiet as I made my way towards the back of the stations and the cells. As soon as I opened the door to head down to the cells, I heard the howling. It set my teeth on my edge as I headed down the stairs, making sure the door to the upper station was closed and locked. * SOMEONE IS GONNA LET ME OUT OF HERE! YA'LL HEAR ME?! FUCKING REDNECK, BACKWOODS FUCKING BASTARD'S! * Claws scratched across the bars after his bellow. I was probably going to end up killing Brady before this interrogation was over. I walked down the corridor and came to Michael's cell first. His head was buried in his hands as his brother carried on two cells down. Michael had been put in a more comfortable holding cell, whereas his brother was in lock up. No amenities and no comfort. I opened the door to Michael's cell and stepped inside. He looked up at me, his eyes bloodshot. He couldn't hold eye contact as I moved further inside. I sat down. * You're in some deep shit. * I told him quietly. He nodded. * I know. * We sat silent, listening to his brother demanding everything from me head on a platter to a drink. * I might can offer you some type of a deal if you tell us what you know. * He shook his head, staring at his feet. * Telling you what I know is a death sentence for Brady and then a death sentence for me. If you don't kill me, then those my brother ran with will. * I knew he was right. Maybe I could talk with Slade and Vincent, see if they had any suggestions. * It doesn't really matter what you tell me or don't tell me, Michael, because your brother is going to die. He killed men - innocent men - and women. Children. * He looked up at me. * I know, and I'll regret that every day for the rest of my life that I wasn't strong enough to stop it. To do the right thing. * His eyes met mine. * And I didn't do the right thing. The right thing would have been to go to you. * I listened as the whole sordid tale spilled from him. * MIKEY! SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH! DON'T TELL HIM SHIT! I SWEAR MIKEY, I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU MYSELF YOU WEAK PUSSY BASTARD! * His face went pale and then surged with color. He stopped talking. * I'm sorry, Alpha. I can't betray him. * His eyes were sad as he looked at me. * Despite the fact that he betrayed you. * It wasn't a question as much as it was a statement. He didn't respond. I didn't think Michael was a bad kid. He was trying to be loyal to family. I questioned my tendencies to go soft on people and wondered if I should slate him for execution too. Instead, I stood up and left the cell, locking him securely in the room. *

I sat at my desk, I decided to work out of my work office today. I was having some renovations being made to my home and the noise and mess had been just a little much. Jotting down some notes for my first appointment, he was due in fifteen minutes. Jase had become a great friend of mine. Over the years of helping him and just talking to him I grew to care for him a great deal. Now that the holidays were over and a new year had begun, my patients were scheduling up all they could. Trent had referred me some troubled teens in his pack that he thinks just might need to talk out what was wrong with them. A few of the soldiers from the realm and my regulars. Of course Victor my most trusted guard was standing outside the door as always. When the knock came, I stood and walked over opening the door. Smiling, I moved aside and let Jase Kayrs into my office. Good morning Jase. It's really nice to see you again. Please come in and have a seat. He sat and smiled as I sat in my chair behind my desk. “Good morning, Prophet Donovan. Thank you for seeing me today.” I smiled at him. Jase please call me Lily. It's my pleasure, really. I know you asked to keep seeing me even though I discharged you months ago. Is everything okay now? Are you still having the nightmares? I asked him. “No, Lily. I'd just like to talk to you. It makes me feel a little bit better.” Why do you say that Jase? He looked at me. “I can talk to you about anything and not feel like I’m being judged.” Jase no one judges you. We've had that conversation before. Your family loves you dearly. “I know that. But, I just feel comfortable here talking to you.” I smiled at him and nodded my head. Alright, let’s talk. Tell me what is on your mind Jase. First, would you like some coffee or tea? He shook his head. “No thank you.” Let’s begin. Jase began to talk and tell me what was on his mind. By the time the two hours were finished, he was smiling a lot more and left my office feeling much better. My next two appointments were the teens Trent referred me. They were both good boys just needed someone to talk to and hear what they had to say. I finish my paperwork quickly. I let Trent know in my email, that I will continue to see them and check my schedule to set up a meeting for them. I also let Trent know that they were good boys just feeling a little left out. That maybe let them help out with building or some community service stuff. Sending my email, I put my files away. My next appointments were not for a few hours, so I decided to go shopping have some lunch. I needed to buy a new top that would go well with my Christmas present I got from my rebel. It was a nice surprise to open my front door and have a gift sitting on my mat for me. The necklace and earrings sets were beautiful! Closing up my laptop. I put it in my bag, grabbed my purse and left my office.

* I grabbed another handful of nails and pounded them into the boards as I relaid the front porch to the cabin Ama Mae was renting to me. I was frustrated mentally and physically. I had made myself scarce after the murder of the Indian Chief and the attack on Gillian. I wondered how she was, but I knew Gabe had a lot on his plate, and the last thing I wanted to do was add to it. My physical frustration had to do with a little blonde cheetah. With a mouth that looked damn delectable wrapped around my cock. The hammer came down on my thumb. "Holy FUCK!" I dropped it and sucked my thumb into my mouth. I was halfway down laying the boards and decided to go in and get a beer. I popped the top and sipped it, letting the cool bite quench my thirst. I couldn't get Kristen Bauer out of my mind. She belonged to me. I knew she did. There was no doubt after having her despite the dubious idea of it. I was an alpha wolf, born and bred in the snow. She was a cheetah, free and fast - like a ray of sunshine. She needed the sun to blossom. All I would do is snuff it out. It killed me to leave her bed - her sweet body - that night. I knew she probably hated me and the missed calls and texts from Gina confirmed that no one would be happy until my head was on a pike. I heard a vehicle, crunching over the frozen gravel and a door slam. Seconds later, there was a pounding on the door. I moved to open it and was momentarily stunned when Kristen stood on the other side. Her scent punched me in the gut and my balls tightened in response. Her eyes flashed with her disgust as she eyed me.

Two weeks before Christmas!

Image
Two weeks before Christmas! Christmas! My mate had lost her mind. Why in the world would a demon want to celebrate any of the human holidays much less Christmas? But it looked like we were going to be celebrating from now on. +Sienna Rua* had talked, kissed and cried until I had agreed to go out and get not one, not two but she wanted a tree in almost every room on the main floor of the house. And she wanted fresh cut trees, no trees that have been sitting in a human lot for us. She wanted our children to have what we didn’t as children of demons. I couldn’t argue with her. I wanted only the best for my little prince and princess. I also knew that was the reason my demons were with me. They were willing to do whatever it took for the children in our home to have everything we didn’t. **+Dominic Petrov** stopped the truck on the side of the road and we got out.* “So, where do we go now?” I turned as +Arie Tsarev* and **+Alexi Romanoff** pulled axes out of the back of the truck.* Let’s...

* I worked on paper work as I waited for +Vincent Gaines to show up. I could hear Ian in his office, moving stuff around on his desk. Making it his own. I had laid out paperwork for him and Vincent to fill out so we could get things rolling on getting them into the Police officer roles. I knew their mate's weren't happy about it, but we needed them and they were both a force to be reckoned with and would fill the shoes well. I heard footsteps coming up the hall and Vincent appeared in my door. * Vincent. Thanks for coming in. * Vincent came in and sat down in one of the two chairs I had in front of my desk. * "No problem, Slade. I told you I would help you with your mate's disappearance. I have someone I could call, I just need some information." * I nodded and filled him in the best I could on the date she had left, when her phone had been turned off and the location my pickup had been found. He wrote it all down. * "Okay, let me call my contact and we'll see if he can help."
