* Today was the day. I was finally going to become Mrs. Cullen Matthews. Nothing and I mean nothing was going to stop this wedding from happening. Chitto had agreed to perform the ceremony for his long lost nephew. I looked over at the dress hanging in all it's beauty on back of the door. Hemi had outdone herself. I was beyond ready for things to begin. Garrett and Logan had arrived and were planning to stand up for Cullen as his best men. Mikaela and Hemi had my back. Along with Helaku. I had wanted Sadie, but something had came up and Sadie had to go to Louisiana, and I couldn't defraud her that. So Cullen and I had four bride's maids and groom's men. There was a knock on the door and Hemi stuck her head in. * You ready to get your hair and makeup done? Then we can squeeze you into the dress. * I nodded excitedly. * Yes. Where's Mik? * Hemi was pulling out hair supplies. * She's coming. I saw her handing off your flower girl to her father. * I laughed. * He better make sure she keeps her dress clean and her hair in place. * Her eyes widened and she went to the door and pulled it open to a bright eyed Jacy, who was posed to knock. * Mom. Make sure Damon keeps Binks clean and from destroying her hair. Mik and I worked on those curls for two hours. She wouldn't be still. * She laughed and nodded. * I will in a moment. I want to see Ashland first. * Jacy moved inside and took my hands as she approached. * Look at you. You're aura is glowing. A sign that you will be happy in your marriage. Cullen is a good guy. * I nodded. * I've been in love with Cullen my whole life. Since I was 5 years old and saw him at the orphanage. Then he got a foster home and grew up with a brother in Troy. He still came to hang out at the compound in Oregon..but he didn't stay with us often. But I knew he was going to be mine. He’d avoid me as if I had the plague, and we both made a few mistakes along the way, but we found our way. * Jacy patted my shoulder lovingly. * You both deserve this happiness and nothing will go wrong with the wedding. * Something flashed in her eyes, but disappeared quickly. * Now get dressed. We don't have much time and guest are starting to arrive. * Just then Mik stepped into the room. * Jacy, can you help Damon keep Bianca out of the fountain? She's really trying us today. * Jacy laughed and nodded as she headed for the door. * Best of luck, Ashland. * I waved as Jacy left and faced my girls. * Let's get this party started. * They worked mercilessly on my hair and soon had it pinned up and curls hanging in all the right places. I wondered briefly if Cara was here, but squashed my worry over it. I'd wanted Talen to walk me down the aisle. Since uncle Mel wasn't here to do it, but I wasn't going to let my hurt over not hearing from them show on the happiest day of my life. my hair and makeup was finished and I was stepping into my dress. Hemi zipped it up and turned me to face the mirror. I slid into my heels and watched as Mik pulled a stool over and climbed up. She placed my tiara on my head along with the veil. * Oh Ash. You look beautiful. Just stunning. Cullen's going to be speechless. * I laughed and Hemi snorted. * Speechless? You mean swallowing growls at all the men watching her...fighting a hard on. * We laughed at Hemi’s bluntness. * No that's from me not putting out. I am making him wait until tonight. * They giggled and we shared a high five. * And honestly...I'm not sure how I withstood it. I may pull him into a secluded spot at the reception. * We laughed again, but were interrupted by a knock at the door. *

* I wasn't sure how but, +Vincent Gaines got the information we needed and we were on our way to get +Chloe Cross and finish off that scumbag +Ricky Cross. I was driving while +Beck Hadrian, +Slade Michaels and Vincent discussed the plan. I listened but, paid attention to the road. I was breaking every law, speeding and shit but, we had a job to do. We were all armed just in case it came down to gun play. I hoped this would go smoothly, I promised Jules I'd be careful, and I kept my promises to her. We were all on edge, this had to go our way since we weren't on pack lands now. We drove for hours until Vincent told me where to get off the highway. We drove through a town that was mostly empty buildings, dirty streets. It seemed like the perfect place for Ricky Cross. I found the Comfy Cactus Inn and snorted. It was a fucking dump. Beck directed me to the very end of the lot. We made loop and drove around the building. The truck was no where to be seen. Vincent growled low and punched the back of my seat. I didn't say a word, tension inside the SUV was already thick enough.*

* I sank down in my tent, bone weary and exhausted. Donovan Wilson was slowly killing every male in my pack. I'd lost so many good soldiers. I needed to plot out tomorrows plan but instead, I sat on the floor. I needed Gina Leigh Jericho back. She knew military strategy better than anyone else in my regiment. My mind drifted back to that fateful day in the pass, watching her as the bullets ripped through her tiny body. I knew I had died a million deaths as I raced down that pass, my men covering me as I slid down next to my best friends baby sister. The snow was falling heavier so the blood seemed more vibrant. We'd gotten her into the Humvee and that's when they'd told me her injuries were severe. She had tried to stop them, but her attempts were lame. We'd lost her twice on the way to camp, where I'd radioed ahead for a medevac. Even now, remembering her eyes open, dead, as they worked to resuscitate her just made me hate myself more. I'd done the right thing, walking away. We weren't mates. But there was passion there. I could scroll through my phone and see the dozens of calls, the text messages, most left after I'd drunk myself into a stupor. Gabriel Jericho would never forgive me. He'd most likely kill me when he found out. I worried about Gina. Had she walked out of the hospital?

* The letter had arrived just after dark. One of the guards brought it in to me and immediately the wax seal was a foreboding sign. Bolshevik. A Russian leader and where Matre Blogis had been. Knowing that this wasn't the kind of missive I had been anticipating, I broke the seal. *

Матре потеряли, когда одну из наших птиц сбил злобные революционеры. Оставшихся в живых не было. Никаких тел. Примите мои искренние соболезнования. Юмар Большевик (Greetings. I send this missive to inform you of a situation that has come about. Matre was lost when one of our birds was shot down by angry revolutionists. There were no survivors. No bodies. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Yumar Bolshevik) * I set the letter down. We'd just had Jake Craven over for dinner and he'd taken Drake to the circus that was performing tonight. Fuck. I was going to have to handle this? I buzzed one of the guards. * Have Beat...

* It was still early in the morning as I sat at my desk, trying to look through old contacts to see if there was anyone who might could help us find Chloe Cross. My eyes burned from lack of sleep. I checked my phone. There were no messages from Dr. Takumi about Tyler. And no word from Ian Holder about Meghan Danvers. I needed a shower. Maybe some breakfast. Sleep would be elusive even if I tried. There were no cameras at Buffalo Grove Park. Vincent Gaines had seen Megs memories, but besides a description of the car, we really didn't have much. I hadn't heard anymore about JB and I was glad for that. Fighting with the human PD wouldn't be good for anyone, but I would if necessary. I stood up and watched the sun slide up over the mountains, leaning against the thick wood mullion. What a mess. There was a knock on the door and I moved to open it, expecting Thomas. I was shocked to see Vincent. He looked haggard and tired. * Morning. * He rumbled as he practically shoved by me. * Your mate let me in. * He said as he sat down on the couch. * Morning. * I sat in the chair, facing him. * Any leads? * I asked. * Fuck no. The only lead we have is the truck. * I nodded. * We could check dealerships in the area, but JB could've bought it anywhere. And we have no idea what Rickys plan is. * Vincent growled. He was a tortured man right man. We did everything right and it wasnt enough. * Hes broke. He asked her for money. * I absorbed that. * You thinking ransom? * He shook his head, but then raked a hand through his hair. * I don't know. Maybe. I check Chloes accounts earlier. No money has been accessed. * We were quiet. * Know anyone at the DMV that can get a license plate off that truck? We could put out an APB if so.
