    I know you don’t want me close to you, but your going to have to get used to it. Don’t worry, I won’t get any absurd ideas about how you don’t feel about me. I hated this. I knew she still liked me. I could feel it. But I was not going to push her. If she wanted to keep this professional then that’s what I was going to do. Getting to her class twenty minutes early. We walked in and her teacher came right over. Mr. Johnson. It’s nice to meet you. We shook hand and I noticed him checking me out. Her first professor was into men. Just great! “Very nice to meet you, Mr. Wallace. Here is a class roster and next to the name is a picture. It’s something to help us remember a name to a face.” Thank you.. this will help tremendously. This is my assignment and your new student. Kaiyo Nakatomi. Mr. Johnson reached his hand out and shook her hand. Welcome, Miss Nakatomi. I hope you enjoy it here. Please pick a seat anywhere in the class.” Kaiyo shook his hand and smiled. “Thank you, professor Johnson.” “Mr. Wallace” Please call me Reese. “Okay, Reese. Please do your check and you can sit anywhere or stand if you wish. The students will be here soon. Kaiyo opened her mouth and the first bell rang. She started to go take her seat and I stopped her. Sit in the front row please. Close to me at the end. She nodded and took her seat. I moved to the door and As each student entered I checked the name and face letting then in at a time. I could feel the professors eyes on me. Glancing at Kaiyo I wanted to just hold her. She looked so vulnerable. Once class started, I stood off to the side.

    She was scared but that was to be expected. Her new guy friend kept talking to her and eventually she smiled and talked with him back. I didn’t like it but what was I supposed to do. I was actually glad when the class ended. As everyone left, Kaiyo was packing her things and I heard a few of the humans talking about me. I knew if I heard so did Kaiyo. “Kaiyo?” Kaiyo turned to Haru. Hai (“Yes?”) Nanika ga hitsuyōna baai wa koko ni watashi no bangō ga arimasu. Wariate nado. (“Here is my number if you need anything. Assignments or anything.”) She smiles and took his number.
    Arigatō, Haru (“Thank you, Haru.”) He smiles and I tried not to roll my eyes. This was going to be a lot harder than I thought. Are you ready? She spun to look at me. “Yes, I am ready. My next class is down the hall.” Let’s go then. We both walked out and I stayed right beside her. Her next class students were already in so I spoke to the other professor privately. He gave me the same roster with pictures and I did what I was supposed to do. Kaiyo was quiet and something was off with her. More than just being nervous or scared. When the bell rang it was time for her lunch and I was glad for that. She waited again for the kids to leave and I walked over to her. Are you alright? "I'm fine." No you are not. Don't lie to me. "I'm fine, just hungry." Alright, lets go and get you something to eat. We left and headed back to my truck. Once in, I turned to her and tilted my head. Are you sure you are alright? Are you to scared to continue? "Mr. Wallace I am fine. Just hungry." Ouch! Where the fuck did that come from? Nodding my head. I pulled out the parking lot and towards the fast food places the signs said they were in. Where would you like to eat? She was staring out the window then looked around. "There... Burger King." I nodded and pulled into the left turning lane. Burger King it is. Pulling into the parking lot, I parked and turned off my truck. I have not eaten here in a very long time. You picked a great place. Getting out, I walked over to her side and let her out closing the door. Walking up the side, he opens the door for her and lets her go in first. Getting in line he looked up at the board and watched her out the corner of his eyes. What do you want?

    * I looked at the menu and settled on the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich. * I'll have the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich, please. No fries and a large drink. * The female behind the counter punched in my order. * "And for you sir?" * Reese was looking at the menu board. * "I'll have the Rodeo King, double. The largest fries you have and a large drink." * I looked at him with wide eyes and then pulled out some money. * "I got this Kaiyo." * I shook my head handing the lady a twenty. * You're already doing enough Reese, I'll pay for lunch. Though if you eat like that everyday, I'm gonna have to find a job sooner than I had planned. * The lady gave me a couple of dollars and some change back. Handed us our cups and a number to set on our table so they knew where to deliver the food. Reese and I filled our cups up. He stood so close, I couldn't help but allow myself to breathe in his scent. I could close my eyes and imagine myself sitting outside under a covered porch while a fresh clean rain fell and cleaned up the air, allowing the Pine tree's to share their aroma. I shook my head and put some distance between us. I found a table and sat down. Reese sat across from me one seat over. * "So you want to get a job?" * I shrugged. * Maybe something part time. To help me get to know the pack and give me a little extra cash." * Reese nodded and said nothing more about the subject. We both sat in an awkward silence waiting for our food to arrive.     Checking out the surroundings, I noticed the two more exited on the far end. Mostly everyone around was in college. Must be a hang out spot for them. Kaiyo was checking her phone and I could not help but see the look on her face. Our food cane and I thanked the lady. Tilting my head I frowned. What’s wrong? You look like you’ve just seen a ghost. Is everything alright? I was worried now. I started scanning the area around but nothing jumped out at me. With my ability to counteract moods it’s easy to pick up them also. Kaiyo... “I got a text from my old friend at my old university. It seems my “guard” is lookin for me now. He is roughing up students asking information about me. Senichi knows now. I’m sure of it. He will send people, Reese.” I didn’t like this. She was scared and you could hear it in her voice. I wanted to wrap my arms around her and tell her it was going to be alright. I reached across the table to take her hand but she pulled her back quickly and I sighed. I won’t let anyone hurt you, Kaiyo. You have my word. “I’m not just worried about myself. I’m worried about y... my sister and Taka and Julian. I’m worried about everyone also.” I’m sure they can handle their selfs, Kaiyo. The pack will help and everything will turn out how it should be. Please eat a little something your class starts soon. She did and we sat in silence eating. The look on her face was driving me nuts. I wanted to kill them all just to make her smile again. When we finished we left Burger King and headed back to campus. Her final class was her child class. This was going to be interesting. I did my same checks and made sure each student was whom they were supposed to be. I kept my senses open and made sure I stayed close to her. When the class was over we left out and got back into my truck. Are you okay? She shrugged. “I’ll be better once I get back home.” I understood that. Starting up my truck I drove off campus and began the hour drive back.

* Raechel Hadrian​​ was finally sleeping as I quietly dressed and left the house. I had to deal with Mia before I dealt with the females of the pack. I was still furious, but everything with Jordan McCormick​​ overshadowed it. I still needed to tell Mikaela Kieschnick​​. Maybe I'd call Damon Kieschnick​​ first.
