It was early morning, the night was long because again the my dreams haunted me. I'd taken my shower already and walked down to the kitchen to make coffee for +Kaiyo Nakatomi. I was able to visit with +Julian Takumi for a few minutes before he headed into his office. I sighed when he left. I envied him for having something to dedicate his time to. I didn't need money, but I did need something to do with my time. I just wasn't sure what that was, but it definitely didn't involve killing any more innocent people. I washed up Julian's breakfast dishes and his mug. I wanted to do something for him. To show him my appreciation for taking us in. Washing his three dishes wasn't enough. A thought popped into my mind, but I was going to need Kaiyo's help. I refilled my mug and filled one up for Kaiyo too. I walked up stairs to my room and walked through the bathroom to hers. * Kaiyo, are you awake? * She looked at me and gave me a sleepy smile. After she set up, I handed her coffee and then sat on the bed beside her. * "Thank you, sister. You look tired." * I hated that she noticed. So much for thinking I was covering the bags under my eyes well. I smiled at her. * I'm not sleeping well, but it's nothing to worry about. * She nodded and took a sip of coffee and studied me from the side. * "Is it Takahiro?" * I wasn't sure how to answer. Do I tell her about how I dream about those that I have killed to keep her and mom safe? I didn't want her thinking any of this was her fault, carrying any kind of burden. * Yeah, I'm worried about Taka. * I said quietly. * "Don't worry, Kim. He'll come to his senses. I know he will. He's a good male." * I wanted to get off the subject so I agree'd and smiled. * I know he will, but does he have to take his time doing it? * We both laughed. * So, I want to do something for Julian, but I'm gonna need your help doing it.

* I was intrigued and thankful that Julian was so willing to let us to move in with him. So doing something to show that appreciation was a great idea. * What did you you have in mine? * Kim set her coffee cup on the nightstand and looked at me. * "I was thinking maybe a traditional Japanese meal. I'm willing to bet he hasn't had one of those in a long while. But, you know how well I cook." * I nodded. * Yeah, I never understood why mom never made you learn to cook, but I HAD to. * Kim smirked. * "Because, while you were learning to cook I was going through grueling sword fighting and self defense lessons." * I frowned. * "I'll help you as much as I can though and I will learn something too!" * I smiled and nodded. I was in my element here, because mom had taught me to cook and to be honest I enjoyed it. Jumping up I grabbed a note pad and pen, and then jumped back on the bed facing my sister. She laughed at my excitement and if felt good to hear her giggle. * Okay! So we might as well go all out and do a small Kaiseki Dinner. And by go all out, I mean the traditional tableware too! Do you know does he have any of that? * Kim nodded. * " I went through his kitchen cabinets the other night, he doesn't have much. Except for a lot plastic containers." * Her brows furrowed. * "I'm guessing the females of the pack must have been feeding him and that he eats out a lot." * I started to write out a list of things we would need. * Okay, here's a list of things we'll need. You're probably going to have to order it of the internet, because there won't be a place around here that would have our dishes back home. I'll take care of the menu and the shopping for the food. Should we set this up for Friday? I start school the Monday after and won't have much time after that.
ReplyDelete* I was gonna miss not having Kaiyo around once she started school. But she had a passion for kids and was getting a degree in childcare. I needed to see about getting her a guard, I knew Julian would be able to point me in the right direction there. I wasn't going to let her go to school without protection, just in case Senichi caught wind that things were not going as planned. I took the list she had scribbled down and looked it over. * I can have this ordered and delivered in a couple of days. "Good, I can base the menu on the items that we can get in season here and now. If there is something I can't get, I'll order it." * I nodded. * "I think I'll shower, get dressed and take a trip to the store can I borrow your car?" * I nodded. * You can drive, but If it's okay I'll go with you? I wouldn't mind getting out for a bit. Maybe we can grab lunch out. * Kaiyo nodded. * "Okay, but you can't wear that!" * I looked down at my comfy shorts and baggy shirt, I climbed off the bed and started walking towards my room and hollered over my shoulder. * Just watch me! * I heard her laugh and shut my bathroom door so she could get around. My eyes stung, my mind was jumbled with thoughts of Taka and how he hurt me. How I lived a life with a family, that wasn't really mine and the awful truth of what happened to mine. The years without knowing my brother and of course the haunting dreams. I felt like I was going to collapse. I decided it wouldn't hurt to close my eyes and minute while Kaiyo readied herself for the day. I sat in my oversize chair, pulling a blanket over me and stared out into forest. *
