I sat in my office looking at all my legal books and wondered what the heck I was doing with my life. Yes I was one of the strongest witches around but I also had a wonderful life as an attorney that I had put on the back burner to take care of family and my coven. Standing, I walked to the window and looked out into the neighborhood. I need a change. Yes, I needed a change. But for the life of me I didn’t know what I was going to do. Alicia didn’t really need me even if she was having a baby. Although she would say otherwise. But she had Wade, Frank and James keeping an eye on her, making sure she was safe. She also had her cousins to keep her busy with all the little demons being born into that part of the family, Ali would definitely be kept busy. I moved away from the window and looked over my shoulder at the bookshelf full of legal precedents. Well, it’s a good thing I made sure I took the Bar in every state! Laughing, I shook my head. Years ago I had decided to use my magic for this very reason. I didn’t actually take the test in every state but if I wanted it wouldn’t be a problem getting any official in the justice system to believe that I was actually a part of their states judicial system. Hell if I had wanted to I could become an actual judge. But no, I didn’t want that. With my being immortal, being in the public eye that much would only be a problem in the long run. So lawyer it was. Until life got in my way. But I had to admit that I missed the work. Sighing, I left my office, with my legal books and headed to the kitchen to fix myself something to eat. Hell, maybe it’s time I found a male again. 325 isn’t that old. Laughing, I shook my head and went to fix dinner.

I finished cooking dinner and sat down to eat and sip on my wine as I continued to think about where I could go. I would finally be able to stop hiding as a frail human. I was so tired of pretending to be an old woman for all the humans that lived in this town. I would really love to look the way I did when I first moved here with Ali after her parents died. I needed to blend in with the humans. And as my coven followed me here they too adapted the persona of elderly humans. Shaking my head as another thought came to mind. I was going to have to tell my coven that I was leaving and they would probably want to follow me again. Maybe I could get them to go to Ireland or to one of the other covens. Thinking about it I shook my head. No, they would want to go where I’m going. I was going to have to find a place where there were only immortals lived. Huh, maybe I could go to the Realm? I had many friends within the Realm. I’m sure someone there would have a need for an attorney. Sighing, I drank the last of my wine then got up to clean up after myself. As I washed the dishes and put everything away I really didn’t see a solution to my problem. With everything clean and put away, I headed up to my room to get ready for bed. Hopefully I’d figure out something, but in the meantime the only thing to do was wait until an idea presented itself.
