It was late and I was in my office finishing up on my paperwork. I needed to go through the supplies so I could reorder. I’d sent Mia home once she had restocked the exam rooms. She was starting to act a bit weird and I was considering letting her go. And if I was being truthful with myself she was like this from the start. She was a great nurse and receptionist. Wonderful with the patients and beautiful female. But for some reason she couldn’t take no for an answer. Well that is until I had to put my foot down and tell her we would never happen. I wasn’t interested in settling, if I found a mate, I wanted it to be my true mate. Not bed any female that smiled at me. I did that in my youth and I learned my lesson. But back then it was human females and it was mostly one night stands. Shaking my head I picked up the list of medication and headed for the supply room. Taking out my keys, I unlocked the door then turned on the lights. Walking over to the medicine cabinet I unlocked it and began my inventory. As I went through each bottle and box, I checked the expiration dates, counted the pills, and checked the last number noted on the page with the number of pills left and the number on the bottle and if anything needed to be ordered I wrote it down on the form. I had gotten to the last box and scanned the name of the medication then finding the name on the page. Temazepam. Seeing the small box was opened I checked the contents, finding that one of the packets was missing. I re-read the previous pages thinking I'd glossed over it by mistake but no it was a new box and I hadn't written a prescription for the medication.*Fuck! *With a growl I carefully replaced all the medication and grabbed the box of pills along with the paperwork and headed for my office. It seemed Mia had some explaining to do.

It was like tunnel vision. All I could see was right in front of me as I made my way to my office. I stepped in side and made my way to my phone, picking it up and dialing Mia's number. Her phone rang and I heard it ringing in back of me. Spinning around there she was, standing by the gray curtains at my window. I took a double take as I stared over at her. She was dressed in silky forrest green lingerie and a lab coat with the words Dr. Sexy on it. She had a stethoscope around her neck and she was wearing a pair of glasses on her face and a syringe in her hand as she gave a seductive pose. As she looked at me she reached up and took hold of the glasses to pull them off. "Want to play doctor?" At first I couldn't speak or believe she was in my fucking office half dressed. Letting my anger free I cleared my throat. I'm done! I've had enough of this. She stepped forward and I put my hand out to stop her. No! Don't come any closer. You're fired! And I want to know who you gave the Temazepam to? She looked at me as her mouth opened and closed then opened again. I held up my hand and she closed her mouth again. Before that lie comes tumbling out, let me say that there are surveillance cameras all over this clinic. “Yes, I took them but I can’t say why or who I gave them to.” I looked at her for a moment. You’re fired! I’m tired of this. I don’t want you. I’ve never wanted you and I’m never going to want you. Her back stiffened. “What’s so wrong with me that you can’t even try to like me?” I was fucking done. I was glad I decided to go ahead with the surveillance equipment. We weren’t in the big city but I still thought it would come in handy and I was right. I’m also glad I never told Mia about it. Look, I won’t go into the why’s of it all. You are not my mate and that’s that. I’m going to call enforcers about this. Just get your clothes and leave. She grabbed her things and headed for the door. I need the keys to the clinic. She stopped as she got the keys and handed them to me then left my building. The sound of a car leaving was the last thing I heard. I took a seat on the edge of the desk and picked up the phone. Dialing the number I was given, I waited for someone to answer. This was one fuck of a mess. After locking up the clinic I got in my car and headed home. I needed to look at the clinic footage. I needed to be sure I was right about Mia before I spoke to Beck. I park and turned off the engine then headed inside and straight up to my home office. Turning on the computer I waiting impatiently as it booted up. Once it was on I hit a few keys until the clinics interior was on the screen. I wanted to make sure Mia hadn't gone back. Seeing that everything was as I had left it, I went into the archives, pulling up the feed, then back tracking until I found what I was looking for. I put a USB in and made a copy of the footage before turning off the computer. It was time to find Cole. Pulling out my phone as I headed back to my car. Mia was playing a dangerous game and it was time she was stopped.
