* The scene played out regardless of how hard I tried not to remember. Dressed in the traditional kimono dress, Jinpachi, the alpha of a rival pack had no idea that I was sent to kill him, if he didn't relent to selling his land. We met in public, bowing I greeted him, once we got passed the pleasantries he motioned for us to walk down a secluded path. The guard that followed us didn't go unnoticed by me. * "Senichi thought he could send a beautiful female to do his bidding, huh?" * Keeping quiet, I paid attention to our surroundings, knowing he wasn't finished talking. * "I told him, I was not interested in selling our land or merging our villages or packs." * Staying calm, I spoke. * Senichi is willing to double the offer and allow you to somehow rule beside him if you come to an agreement. * Jinpachi stopped abruptly and rounded on me. Anger stamped all over his face. Playing the part of a helpless female, I stepped back ready to draw the sword I had hidden under the layer of clothes I wore. I noticed that his guard had pulled his, we were in an old court yard completely secluded from curious eyes, the perfect place for someone to die and not be noticed for quite some time. * "Senichi, only wants to rule. He has no interest in doing it beside me. My pack is strong and I rule with a heavy hand but gentle heart. He would only tear them down, I will not sell my pack out." * In my heart I knew he was right. I trembled in front of him, acting as though I was scared. I knew what I had to do now. I backed away, bowing and appologizing. I ran down the path that we came up just until I was out of site. Slipping behind a large bush I slipped my kimono off, having worn my black ninja suit under it and hid it in the brush under the bush. Pulling my hood and mask on, I ran through the woods that lay behind the walls of the abandoned courtyard. Stopping only when I could hear Jinpachi rambling. Swiftly climbing a tree, I peered over the top of the wall. Jinpachi's back was to me. Quickly, I stood on top of the wall and pulled my sword. Leaping to the ground just in front of the guard. Taking him by surprise, I swung my sword and took his head off. I heard the audible gasp come from Jinpachi. I turned to face him, pulling my mask down. He stuttered, began to scramble backwards and then turned to run. Chasing after him I leaped in the air hitting him in the back with my feet causing him fall to the ground. He rolled over, using his elbows to hold him up and looked up at me. * "Please, I beg you! I have a family. A mate, kids and grand kids." * It crushed me, tears sprang to my eyes. I didn't want to kill the sweet old man. He didn't deserve it. I loomed over him my sword inches from his heart. * I'm sorry, but If I don't kill you, when I show back up at Senichi's cottage without the deed in hand for your land. He will kill my mom. * I shook my head, letting the tears fall. * I can't let that happen. I'm so sorry, I'll make it fast and painless. * I let the darkness slither through me, a mask of evil falling over my face. I could tell it in his eyes that he knew his time was up. Taking my sword in both hands I lifted it high and then plunged it into his heart. I watched as the life in him dissipated before pulling my sword from his body. It didn't take long. * "Kimiko! Kimiko!" * I felt my body shaking, my eyes sprung open and I set up straight in my seat. +Takahiro Yanahi DPI was kneeling in front of me, worry on his face. I scrambled into his arms, holding onto him as if he were my life line and I would drift away If I let go. He stiffened at first and then relaxed, wrapping his arms around my shuttering frame. * "Shhh, I got you."

  1. Shhh, I got you. * I was reluctant at first to hold Kimiko but, the way she trembled as she held onto me melted any reluctance I had and I held her small frame in my arms until she calmed down. When she did, she pushed at me to let her go. Her eyes narrowed almost in anger and she rubbed her face with her hands and returned to her seat. I shook my head and returned to my own seat. I had finished reading all the material I had on McGregor, it's Alpha, the town. I made a phone call and confirmed we had a place to stay, a private residence. Everything was in place and a SUV would be waiting at the airport for us. As I put all the paperwork in my satchel, the pilot spoke over the intercom that we would be landing soon. I glanced at Kimiko, she was stoic and just stared straight ahead. I figured she was still upset and my heart went out to her, but she was also tough, a ninja. And I was not going to coddle a killer. I had to chuckle to myself. Kimiko looked my way and I covered my laugh with a cough. The plane touched down and Kimiko seemed to perk up, the thought of the job we were here to do must have made her happy because her mood changed before my eyes. Once the plane stopped, we were out, bags in hand and loading them into a huge black Denali. Kimiko set her bags in the back and walked away quietly. She got into the passenger side and after I got my bags in and settled, I joined her. Sitting behind the wheel, I programmed the GPS and started to drive.*

  2. * It was the middle of the day when we landed. Stepping out of the plane, I breathed in the fresh air and stretched, waking my body up from the long flight. After putting my bags into the Denali that had been left for us, I put my seat belt on and waited patiently for Takahiro. He closed the back end and got in behind the wheel. He punched the address of the house we would being occupying while we were here into the GPS and began to drive. At first we were both quiet, I stared out the window and watched excitedly as the scenery passed by. * "Do you want to talk about it?" * I looked at Takahiro. * Talk about what? "The dream? The crying?" * I hated the look he gave me, like he felt sorry for me. * It was nothing, just a bad dream. * I snapped at him. I didn't need or want his pity. * "Must have been some dream, you almost broke my neck, you held onto me so tight. Not that I'm complaining." * I glared at him, it was rude for him to bring it up. * Well I won't make that mistake twice. * Takahiro rolled his eyes at me and then focused back on his driving. * "You know you can let your guard down here. It's not like we have anyone from home we have to hide from." * He reached over and ran a finger gently down my cheek. My eyes began to water and I quickly looked away. If he only knew how much I wish that was true, but the only thing I have left is my sister. Senichi had no problems reminding me of that before we left and what would happen if I didn't pull off this mission. If only I could get Kaiyo to safety, maybe then, I could live a happy life. I decided I needed to change the subject. * So what can you tell me about this town were headed to?

  3. McGregor, a town of wolf shifters. From what I've read, the town has gone through hell. Kimiko's eyebrows shot up in question The old Alpha wanted a town of pure black wolf shifters, arranged savage matings and , there were a lot of deaths, murders. Kimiko shook her head. " And now?" * Well, now the new Alpha has really turned the town around. People are thriving, business is growing. * I pointed to some of store fronts as we drove down the main street through town. It's almost picture perfect here from the looks of it. I handed her a folder I picked up from the dashboard in front of me.* There's more information in here, if you care to read it. Kimiko took the folder and sat back in her seat to read while I followed the GPS to the cabin we'd be living in.

  4. * Opening the folder I began to read through the information we had. The pack had been through a very traumatizing time with the old alpha and beta. And I was surprised that I was glad they were able to to change things around and it appeared that the new alpha and beta had been good for this pack. What would if feel like I wonder to be a part of this close pack, even for just a little while. Well I guess we will find out. * "We're here." * Looking away from the papers I stared out the windshield and was taken by surprise by the nice cabin sitting in front of us. I had never seen such a thing. * Wow! It's beautiful. * Closing the file, I placed it on the dash all without tearing my eyes away from the cabin. I opened my door and stepped out. Breathing in the fresh air, my nose was assaulted by the scent of elm which seemed to surround the house. Opening my senses, I picked up on the peacefulness of the woods around us. A calm that I had never felt before seeped into my being. I heard a small chuckle as Takahiro walked up to me, he had keys dangling from his hand. * "Here, why don't you let yourself in and I'll bring in your bags. There are a couple of bedrooms you can choose from. Pick which ever one you want." * For a minute I let my guard down and smiled up at him as I took the keys, I made my way to the front door and unlocked it. Stepping inside I found a light switch and turned it on. I gasped, the inside was just as beautiful as the outside, I began to walk through the house and check each room out one by one. I could hear Takahiro as he set the luggage down. * "Did you pick a room?" * I smiled again at him. * I don't even care, they are so pretty. Both have an on suite bath." * Takahiro grinned as he walked towards me with one of my bags. * "Since you have the most stuff and this room is closest, you'll be taking this room." * I nodded my agreement and helped bring in the rest of my things. Turning to Takahiro, I halfway closed the room door. * I'm going to take a shower, unpack some things and rest. I'll see you soon. "I'm going to do the same, maybe we could go out for supper and do some grocery shopping afterwards? * My stomach fluttered. That seemed like something a couple would do, so intimate. I was sure my cheeks turned pink. * Okay.

* Once +Loretta Blackstone told me what she needed I got up and left. Julian handed me his car keys and +Takahiro Yanahi DPI followed me out of the conference room. I was on the verge of losing it, my baby sister was missing. Taken by a witch and I had no idea why they would even want her. The thought's going through my mind of what might be happening to her were dark. I feared for her. I hurried down the hall and burst through the front door of the police station. I needed fresh air and solitude, I knew I couldn't hold myself together much longer. * "Kimiko, yamero." {Kimiko, stop.} * I stopped, but refused to turn around, tears slid down my face and I was ashamed that I was so weak at this moment. Taka turned me gently and pulled me against his chest, slipping the car keys from my hand. Wrapping his arms around me, he let me cry. * "Watashitachiha kaiyo o mitsukerudeshou, watashi wa yakusoku shimasu." {We'll find Kaiyo, I promise."} * I wrapped my arms around his waist. His gentle voice, embrace and his scent helped to calm me. I looked into my mate's eyes. * Why would they want her, Taka? Do you think that Senichi could be behind this? * My mate seemed to think for a minute. * "You and I know Senichi best. We could guess his next move in any situation and act on it before he even had to say anything. He knows he's gonna have to do something that we would never consider. I'm not saying he is behind this, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is." * I nodded, I knew he was right. Taka kissed me. * "Let's get to the house and get what Miss Blackstone needs." * I slipped into the passenger side of Julian's car and tried to pull myself together as Taka drove us to the house. *

* Raechel Hadrian was finally sleeping as I quietly dressed and left the house. I had to deal with Mia before I dealt with the females of the pack. I was still furious, but everything with Jordan McCormick overshadowed it. I still needed to tell Mikaela Kieschnick. Maybe I'd call Damon Kieschnick first. Let him decide the best way to tell her. She'd taken to Jordan right off the bat and I think Jordan had loved Mik too. I kicked the truck engine over and rubbed my hands together. It was cold and the sky was just turning a bright orange in the eastern sky. I didn't relish the tasks ahead. I put the truck in gear and headed into town. We didn't have a large police department. It was a few offices for Slade Michaels and Cole Ross, the other enforcers were directed by them. Slade and I had talked about bringing Vincent Gaines on, but it hadn't gotten any further when we were called to help Bianca. Now that the females had pulled the stunt they did, he may not stick around long enough for me to offer him the position. We had eight holding cells, each one made with reinforced silver. They stayed empty most of the time with the exception of a drunk or two needing to sleep off their drink. I parked in the space designated for me and made my way inside. * Alpha. * Bernice ran the front desk and she greeted me with a smile. * Good morning, Bernice. * She stood up. * You look tired, sir. * She handed me the file on Mia. This was a small town, she knew why I was here. I flipped through the contents. * Its been a long two weeks. * I told her as I made sure everything was in order. * Who's running the morning shift? * I asked, closing the file. * Stretch and Monty. * They were relatively new trainees, but Slade and Cole had trained them well. * Thank you. * I nodded as I slipped past her. Stretch was working the radio system we had in place and I nodded to him as I made my way towards the basement and the holding cells. Monty guarded the door leading down. * Good morning, Alpha. * He opened the door for me. * Thank you, Monty. * He nodded in return. * Good luck with that one, Sir. * I headed down the stairs, the air growing colder. I stepped down the corridor and she was in the first cell to the left. I typed in the code and a small section of the silver bars opened, allowing me to step inside her cell. She sat up when they slammed closed. She smelled like day old booze and her make up was smeared. She stood up and made her way over to me. * Alpha Beck. * Her voice was anything but respectful. * I'd hoped you would come and see me so we could sort this misunderstanding out. * She stepped close enough to run her fingers up the arms of my jacket. She shivered. * Such big muscles. * Her eyes met mine. * Maybe we can work out a deal, hm? * Her fingertips grazed my neck and jaw and for the first time in my life, I wanted to throttle a female. I shoved the file folder between us. * For starters, seducing me will do nothing but get you killed. My mate would have your head. Secondly, we'd both suffer the mating rash. And last, I would rather be dragged behind a truck, over broken glass then continue to be this close to you. * Rage darkened her eyes. * You're a son of a bitch! * Her hand flew up to slap me and I caught her wrist. * I can be. Why don't we find out just how big of a one? * She jerked away from me. * I don't understand why you're so mad at me. Why I'm to blame. I didn't do anything wrong! * She sat on the bed in a huff. * So, you didn't steal drugs from Dr. Tukami? * She was silent. * And you didn't meet Jules and my mate to give them the drugs you didn't steal? * Her eyes snapped fire as they met mine. * Or, you did do all those things, but dont want to admit it. I find it difficult to believe that you did this for the females out of the kindness of your own heart. * I opened the file that I had. * You attempted to seduce the doctor, your boss and was fired for it. I see you lived here during O'Donnells reign of terror. Your mother left with some rogue shifter. You stayed behind with your father. * She moved from the bed. * I know my life's story. I dont need you narrating it. * She tried to snatch the folder from me. I didn't allow it. * And I dont need someone of your calibre in my pack. * That got her attention. * What do you mean? * I shrugged. * Exactly what I just said. I'm banishing you, Mia. * Tears filled her eyes. * Beck...I mean, Alpha, sir....please. * I steeled myself against her pleas. * I don't trust you. In fact, you attempted to seduce me, which means you will stop at nothing to get what you want. I have yet to determine what exactly that is. But its detrimental to my pack. And I will not allow it. * She was sobbing now. * I just wanted Julian. I just wanted him to love me! * I shook my head. * He doesn't feel the same, Mia. The last female like you caused a lot of hurt as well and she almost killed members of my pack. I cannot stand by and let this happen. I will not. You broke trust. And you crossed the line thinking you could seduce me. * She hit her knees. * Alpha, please! Give me another chance! I will stay away from Julian! I'll do anything, ANYTHING to make this right. Just please, don't banish me!! * I shook my head as I gave the signal to be let out. * You'll be escorted out tomorrow morning. You will have exactly two hours to pack and clear out your things. * She was still sobbing. * Where will I go? * I stepped out of the cell. * I don't know, Mia, nor do I care. But you won't be here. And I shouldn't have to tell you that if you attempt to come back to McGregor land, you'll be killed on the spot. * I slammed the bars closed. * I hope that you take this chance and become a better person. Perhaps find a pack that will accept you. * She hit the bars, screaming. * I don't need you or your fucking pack! I didn't act alone! And everyone knows that the only reason you won't banish the others is because of who they mated and your mate is one! * I growled. * You know nothing of what I will do. Don't push me, Mia. It's too easy for me to have you executed. And it'd be supported. * I left her screaming behind me as I made my way back upstairs. I was due to meet with Jules, Meghan and Chloe in an hour. I wanted to be done with this whole thing so I could move on. I had bigger issues to deal with and this was just pissing me off. I left Mias file for Cole to finish up and then headed to my office for round two. *

* I finished checking in at the front desk then sat down next to Caiden Bauer. I was nervous. I worried about what they would find today. I worried that Gabriel Jericho was going after Quinn Cooper. I just wanted to be tucked inside of Ama Maes bed and breakfast with Caiden. My leg bounced as anxiety pumped through my veins.
