At 18 years old he'd taken in a 12 year old girl and raised me to be what I am today. I owed him. * The hairs prickled on the back of my neck and I looked up into a pair of dark eyes. He was gorgeous, but I sucked that shit back. I didn't have time for it. I was here for Caiden. Galen spoke. * Hey Quinn, Jericho around? * I looked at the male..wolf now that I got my senses and calmed down. I could see it. He was 100% predator. * He's with Gina in with Caiden. He can only have two visitors at a time. * I frowned and stepped forward. Damn what did they feed the guys up here. He was huge. I looked up at him and he looked down at me, keeping his face clear of expression. I started to ask about my cousin, when the nurse came over, with a doctor. He held out his hand.* I'm doctor Bachman. I'm Caiden's doctor. * I shook his hand and tears rimmed my eyes again. Damnit. I hated crying. He looked down at me.* He's in ICU and has limited visitors. Are you next of kin? * I nodded. * Yes. Kristen Bauer. We're all each other has. * He nodded. * He's stable. Has a severe concussion and hasn't woken up yet, but his brain is testing on the right wavelengths, so looks good. For now. We're still running test every few hours, but we'll know more when he wakes up. He also has several fractures. Two being ribs. We went on and operated because he had a collapsed lung and some internal bleeding. But we have him stabilized. So far we haven't had any complications. * I let out a relieved breath and shook his hand again.* Thank you Doctor, Bachman. * He smiled and patted my cheek. * I'll go get one of the others so you can go back and after your visit, any spare moment. You'll need go down to billing and sign a few things and give them his insurance information. But no rush on that. Just focus on Caiden and his recovery. * I nodded and Sabre held my hand as we waited. Soon a big guy walked out and walked up to me. * Kristen? * I nodded and he gave me a sympathetic smile. * I'm Gabriel Jericho. Caiden is strong. He's gonna make it through this. * I nodded again. * I want to know what happened. I mean everything... * not leaving any room for refusal.*...but first..I'm going to check on my cousin. * With that I walked off through the double doors that lead to my cousin's ICU room. I stepped inside to see my cousin's prone firm lying still on the bed. Machines beeping and pumping air. I teared up all over again. * Oh Caiden. I sniffled and noticed a beautiful redhead holding his hand. Her eyes glistening with tears she'd shed. She looked up as I approached. * I'm Kristen.     * I was frantic as I watched Quinn lift Kristen and carry her into the bathroom. Then the crash and sound of something breaking has my gasping. * Galen..do something. He's gonna hurt her. * Gabe walked over, obviously hearing what I said. I didn't know him well, but I'd seen him at the wedding. * No he won't. She may hurt him, before he can stop her. * I winced when I heard a yelp and then a muffled female voice. * Get. Off. Of. Me. You fucking pervert! * Gabe grinned. * He got her down. Now its just a matter of calming her down. * Then there was a snarling sound. * You crazy bitch! What the fuck? * I grimaced and looked at Gabe and he shrugged. * Maybe not. * Within minutes the door opened and Kristen limped out. I rushed over to her and she winced when I poked at a bruise forming under her eye. * Are you alright? Did he hit you? * She sank down into a chair in the waiting room. * I'm fine. No he didn't.     * Gabe came over to me. "She kicked your ass." His tone had me squinting up at him. "Captain Obvious." I swiped blood from face. "She's right, you know. This is my fault." Gabe sat down. "Listen, Coop. Cantwell is to blame. Caiden is going to be okay." I looked at him. "What about Gina? She's in a fucking wheel chair." Gabe winced. "Her um...spinal cord has fractured more. They've got her braced up. If she wasn't a shifter, she'd be dead." I closed my eyes as regret burned through me. Fuck, I'd never meant for any of this to happen. I shook my head, trying to come to grips with the lives I'd fucked up. I had every intention of paying for the damages. To the hospital bathroom and for Caiden and Gina. I stood up and headed over to the reception desk. "Hi." She looked at me expectantly. "Hey, I want to be the guarantor for the following patients please." She seemed stunned. "Uh... Thats going to be quite expensive." I nodded. "I know. I'm not concerned about that. Can you please settle up Caiden Bauer and Gina Jerichos account? I'd like to pay it and get discharge orders started. We have a medivac chopper here to move them closer to home." She agreed and started pulling together the papers. *

    * My arms sure were getting a work out as I rolled behind Kristen. She'd taken Quinn down pretty easily. I finally caught up to her in Caiden's room. Her eye was starting to swell.
    "Hey...damn cheetahs." I huffed as a wheeled closer to her, my arms screaming for relief. She was crying. "What's wrong?" She shook her head, wiping at her face.
    "I'm scared for him." She looked at Caiden.
    "I am too, but we've got to think positive. Talk to him." I laid a hand on her arm.
    "I always thought he would suck it up and marry Kylie. Have two-point-five kids, a dog and a white picket fence. Then I'd be on my own." Her eyes met mine. "Then he met you. And he said you rocked his world. I helped him find you, by the way." I laughed at that.
    "Thanks for that."
    "Yeah, you both kinda owe me. Anyways. I'm glad he found you, Gina. I think you woke him up. Showed him to live a little." I took her hand in mine.
    "We're going to get through this." She squeezed my hand.
    "I hope so." I wanted to move my chair to the other side of the bed, but I was tired and in pain. We sat together, by Caiden's bed in silence. The longer I sat, the more I hurt. I tried to take deep, controlled breaths, but it wasn't working.
    "Kristen, I think you need to get Gabe or a nurse." She looked at me sharply.
    "What's the matter?"
    "I think I just need to lie down." She got up and went to the door. A nurse came in, followed by Gabe.
    "We're getting ready to fly out and back home. Can you make it?" Immediately, I nodded.
    "No, she can't. Can she have a pain shot or something?" Kristen countered. God, I loved this woman. The nurse agreed and left to get the medication.
    "We're loading up in fifteen minutes. Let's get what you need to be discharged and blow this joint."
    I agreed as he rolled me out of the room and away from Caiden. *

* Raechel Hadrian​​ was finally sleeping as I quietly dressed and left the house. I had to deal with Mia before I dealt with the females of the pack. I was still furious, but everything with Jordan McCormick​​ overshadowed it. I still needed to tell Mikaela Kieschnick​​. Maybe I'd call Damon Kieschnick​​ first.
