After breakfast, Jake hugged Janie and gave Hope a kiss on her forehead. He left the house and smiled at Maxim and Milena who were standing by the hummer. He was going to the Demon Headquarters to talk with Zane about the mating removal. He knew Zane would be happy about it. Getting in the hummer Maxim drove and Milena sat in the passenger seat. “Jake are you sure you want this? “ Milena asked and looked back at Jake.* I am. It needs to be done so that I can heal and try and move on. It’s what he wants and since I didn’t listen to him before I will listen to him now. Even if I do move on he will always be in my heart. Milena nodded and turned back in her seat. Jake pulled out his cigarettes and took one out lighting it. Maxim growled and Jake looked at him. Don’t start Maxim. “Those are bad for you.” It won’t kill me. Right now I need them. They keep me calm and not all bat shit crazy. Milena chuckled and Maxim gave them both a look. I will quit in time but now it’s better than drinking right? Maxim opened his mouth but shut it. Thought so. Jake smiled and took a drag rolling the window down. About ten minutes later they pulled into the parking lot and parked. Jake took a deep breath and got out. The guard that locked him up and got smart with him opened the door for him and grinned. Jake just gave him a look but both Maxim and Milena growled at him. Heading to Zane’s office his secretary told him to go on in that he was expecting him. Opening the door, Zane smiled. “Hey, Jake.” Hey, Zane. “Please have a seat.” Jake sat and his guards stood in the back of the office. Zane nodded to them both. “Jake, I know why you are here. Are you sure you want to do this?” Jake gave him a questioning look. Are you actually asking me? I’m a little shocked that you asked me that. Zane chuckled. “To be honest I am happy that you want it done but you are hurting and for that yes I am asking.” Jake nodded. Yes, yes I am sure. Can you call the queen and ask her for the removal, please. If she asks yes she can take my blood, cause I have heard stories about her and poking people. Zane laughed, his guards chuckled and even Jake laughed a little. I will call her and see about the mating removal. How soon do you want it?” Yesterday? * Zane Kyllwood rose a brow at him.* I just want it done fast, please.

    I looked at Jake Craven*​*​. He sure changed his mind fast. Too fast. And I didn't like it. Sure I never liked Matre Blogis*​*​ but something felt off with Jake and I was going to find out what it was. Getting up from my chair I walked around my desk and stood in front of my cousin. Okay, Jake I'll talk to the queen as soon as I can. Jake nodded then stood. "Thank you Zane. I really appreciate you helping me out like this." That's what family is for. Now get on out of here and let me get back to work. Plus I need to make some calls. I looked over at Maxim and reached into his mind. ~Keep a close eye on Jake. Something's not right with him changing his mind so quickly. I want to know what's going on.~ Maxim gave me a small nod then took the lead out of my office with Jake and Milena following close behind. When they were home I picked up the phone and made a few calls trying to figure out who had broken into Jake's place.

    Jake knew that Zane gave Maxim another order in his head for him to nod at him. Not saying anything they all walked out the office and a few minutes later out the building. Heading to the hummer, Jake stopped and looked at his guards. So you think the queen will take long to get the removal to Zane once he asks her? Maxim grabbed Jake's arm and moved in front of him. "Look... I know I pushed you but you never gave in till now. Tell me why?" I told you. It's what he wants. "Don't lie to me, Jake." Jake pushed him I told you why! "You never listened to him before. You even said that. Why now?" Jake broke down. I have to. I need this to let go. I need to forget. Maxim and Milena looked at Jake. Milena took Jake and lead him to the side of the hummer helping him in. "Let's go get you some food and to relax. You spoke to Zane he will call the queen and it will be over soon." Jake nodded and laid down on the back seats. Milena got in and looked at Maxim. He nodded and then drove to Jake's favorite place for dinner.

* Raechel Hadrian​​ was finally sleeping as I quietly dressed and left the house. I had to deal with Mia before I dealt with the females of the pack. I was still furious, but everything with Jordan McCormick​​ overshadowed it. I still needed to tell Mikaela Kieschnick​​. Maybe I'd call Damon Kieschnick​​ first. Let him decide the best way to tell her. She'd taken to Jordan right off the bat and I think Jordan had loved Mik too. I kicked the truck engine over and rubbed my hands together. It was cold and the sky was just turning a bright orange in the eastern sky. I didn't relish the tasks ahead. I put the truck in gear and headed into town. We didn't have a large police department. It was a few offices for Slade Michaels and Cole Ross, the other enforcers were directed by them. Slade and I had talked about bringing Vincent Gaines on, but it hadn't gotten any further when we were called to help Bianca. Now that the females had pulled the stunt they did, he may not stick around long enough for me to offer him the position. We had eight holding cells, each one made with reinforced silver. They stayed empty most of the time with the exception of a drunk or two needing to sleep off their drink.
