* Wandering through my small cottage, I gathered the items I knew I would want or need to take with me, placing them into my suitcase. I wasn't at peace with this mission, like I was with all the other's that I had done before. It seemed sudden that Senichi came across the information on my mother's killer. But also, this person lived in the United States. Why come all the way here, attack my mother and then go back? It wasn't adding up. My second worry was being alone with +Takahiro Yanahi DPI, I'd hidden my feelings for him for months. How was I going to get through this mission with him by my side? Kneeling down in front of my suit case, I packed my stash of normal clothes. When I went on missions, I didn't wear the traditional kimono. I needed to be able to move and the dress didn't allow that. It wasn't exactly easy for me to hide my weapons on me either. I carefully placed mother's old dolls into my suitcase, placing clothes around them to be sure they didn't break. After another layer of clothes I placed my swords and knives on top and then zipped it shut. Takahiro had texted the information to me so I knew that Senichi had booked us a private plane. It meant that I could take anything and not worry about security. I carried to suitcase to the genkan and set it down beside the other one. Leaving under the cover of night, meant that no one in the village would see me in my untraditional clothes. I stared out into the pond that bordered my cottage and waited for Takahiro to pick me up. *

I had my suitcase packed, along with my weapons and the money Senichi had given me to spend while Kimiko and I were in the states. At first I had refused the money, I had my own but, Senichi didn't want a paper trail leading back here. His words were true enough but I'm sure there was some hidden meaning. Not one part of this mission had any truth to it, I felt it in my bones. I shook it off. Kimiko and I would figure everything out. I loaded my things into my car andd hot inside. Everyone in our village was sleeping, so I was as quiet as I could be as I drove over to Kimiko's cottage. She was waiting for me outside. I popped the trunk as she moved out of the shadows. I grabbed her bags and set them in the trunk. As she got into my car I closed the trunk and got in behind the wheel. We said nothing as I drove us to the small private airport.
ReplyDelete* Getting into Tamiko's car, I put my seat belt on and said nothing. I was still upset that Senichi thought I couldn't handle this mission on my own, I knew it wasn't fair for me to take it out on Tamiko, but I couldn't stop myself. I watched in the side mirror as he drove away from our small village. I would miss it, but a part of me was excited about going to the states.
ReplyDeleteI pretended to nap as Tamiko drove. It was just easier that way. He wouldn't feel the need to fill the silence with words. It wasn't that I didn't like him. It was the exact opposite, I did like him, but I've been hiding my feelings for him for so long. It wasn't safe for me to care for other's. Senichi would use my feeling against me. I felt the car come to a stop and opened my eyes. There was a black sleek business jet sitting not far from us on the tarmac. My eyes widened. * Is this for us? * Tamiko nodded as he looked at it too. * "It is, this will make it easier for us to get close to our destination without all the security issues." * Reaching for the door handle, we both exited the car at the same time. A man approached us, introducing himself and shaking both our hands. * "My name is Bruce and I will be your pilot. We are clear for take off as soon as we get your luggage on the plane." * Thanking him Timiko and I grabbed our luggage out of the trunk and we boarded the plane with the pilots help. I gasped as I took in the interior of the plane. It was luxurious, definitely business like and almost a little intimate as in there wasn't much seating and what there was was so close together. There was one single chair and I claimed it as Tamiko and Bruce took care of the luggage. Bruce pointed out the bathroom, a small refrigerator with refreshments and beverages in it and then showed us how to contact him if we needed him. As Bruce walked off to the front of the plane. Tamiko took one look at me and then looked at the soft leather double chair that would have held us both comfortably, shook his head at me and then settled into it alone. *
* Kimiko had rushed to sit in the only single seat. I could only shake my head. If she only knew how I felt about her. I settled into the soft leather double chair and fastened my seat belt. We had a few hours of flight time and I brought the papers about the town we were heading towards and the info on the cabin we'd be living in. I wanted to know as much as possible. The plane took off and I unbundled my seat belt so I could sit more comfortably. Kimiko got up and went to the fridge for a soda and a bag of chips. Her snacking was a distraction, that and the way she moved around inspecting everything. I set my papers aside and leveled my gaze on her.* Are youu excited, or just anxious about this mission? I only ask because you are going out of your way to ignore me. * Her lovely face flushed pink and she quickly took a drink of soda and sat down. I chuckled to myself. This was going to be a most interesting mission, that I knew for sure.*
