We said goodbye to the doctor at the small airport and thanked him for his services. Vincent paid for his rental car and handed him some cash. * "You okay?" * I smiled and stepped into his arms. * Yes! I'm glad to be home and rid of all the drama. * We moved towards the front door. *

    The ride into McGregor was a quiet one. After we landed at the airport, I got the two rental cars and paid the doctor. Thank you for accompanying us back doctor. He smiled and nodded as we shook hands. "It wasn't a problem Mr. Gaines. I needed a few days off. Chuckling I pulled Chloe closer into my side as she said her own thanks and goodbyes. I handed the doctor an envelope then lifted my mate into my arms. I had just buckled Chloe in as the good doctor pulled out of the car rental place. "He seemed very nice. I hope we didn't put him out by coming here?" I walked to the drivers side and got in before answering her. No, he is all good. He was happy to help, and he was paid very well. I started the engine and headed for home. About 10 minutes into our ride my little wolf yawned and I chuckled. Why don't you close your eyes and try to rest? I've got you. She smiled up at me then closed her eyes and was asleep within minutes. A few hours later I was stopping in front of our place. My Chloe's light snoring filling the inside of the car. I got out of the vehicle taking in our surroundings as I pulled my phone out of my pocket. Once I was sure everything was safe I used my phone to disengage the alarm system. Opening Chloe's door I called her name. Once she was awake I helped her from the car and we moved to the door. I unlocked it, turning on the lights as we stepped inside. Home sweet home! Are you hungry? I can get you something before we head upstairs. She seemed to think about it for a moment then said. "Don't we have to go shopping? I'm sure everything in the house needs to be thrown out." I grinned down at her and shook my head. I asked Ian to come over and check on things once Meghan was home. He said Raechel and some of the other females had offered to clean up and shop as well as make a few meal for us. Her eyes widened at that. "Really?" Yes, really! "Okay, can you see if we have some fruit? I don't want anything to heavy." Sure think baby. I helped her to the couch then locked the door and setting the alarm system. I headed for the kitchen as I took out my phone. I texted Julian asking if I could bring Chloe in to see him. After that I hit up Ian letting him know we were home and I'd bring Chloe over to see Meghan in a day or two. Once that was taken care of I pulled out a container of fresh fruit and placed some in a bowl. I made my way back to my little wolf and handed her the bowl. Here you go baby!

    * Vincent handed me a bowl with grapes, pineapple, honeydew and cantelope and then set beside me. * Nothing for you? "I'm okay right now, but you need the nourishment while your healing." * My mouth watered when the sweet smell of the fruit hit my nose. I took a bite of pineapple, juice ran down my chin and I smiled, everything seemed to taste better and I wondered if that was a side affect of the vampire blood. It was mouth watering. Vincent reached for the remote and flipped on the news. * Thank you....for everything. * Vincent's eyes met mine. * I feel like it's been nothing but constant chaos since we've mated. Dealing with Ricky, then learning that he isn't even my father. Now Morelo is and I'm part vampire. * I shook my head. * My life is a mess. * Vincent squeezed my knee. * "We'll figure things out, Chloe. It won't always be like this. Soon you'll be bored and hoping for some excitement." * I smirked. * I doubt that. I just want you to know how much I love you and appreciate everything you are doing to take care of me.

    I pulled her closer into me and kissed the top of her head. I love you, babe. And it's my job to take care of you. I watched the news as Chloe ate. When she was finished the fruit she lay her head on my shoulder and before long I heard light snoring. I grinned down at her as I took the bowl and placed it on the table. I turned off the TV then picked up Chloe and took her upstairs. Heading into our room I pulled back the covers and put her to bed. I removed her shoes then covered her up, kissing the side of her head. Rest love, I'll be downstairs. Going back downstairs I cleaned up and took out one of the dishes the alpha's mate left and put it in refrigerator for later. When I was done I went back upstairs and got into bed with my little wolf. I pulled her close then closed my eyes holding on to the love of my life.

* Raechel Hadrian​​ was finally sleeping as I quietly dressed and left the house. I had to deal with Mia before I dealt with the females of the pack. I was still furious, but everything with Jordan McCormick​​ overshadowed it. I still needed to tell Mikaela Kieschnick​​. Maybe I'd call Damon Kieschnick​​ first. Let him decide the best way to tell her. She'd taken to Jordan right off the bat and I think Jordan had loved Mik too. I kicked the truck engine over and rubbed my hands together. It was cold and the sky was just turning a bright orange in the eastern sky. I didn't relish the tasks ahead. I put the truck in gear and headed into town. We didn't have a large police department. It was a few offices for Slade Michaels and Cole Ross, the other enforcers were directed by them. Slade and I had talked about bringing Vincent Gaines on, but it hadn't gotten any further when we were called to help Bianca. Now that the females had pulled the stunt they did, he may not stick around long enough for me to offer him the position. We had eight holding cells, each one made with reinforced silver.
