Looking around, he took in his surroundings and knew that was merely a dream. Feeling little hands shaking his arm, he looked down seeing Hope. She was smiling up at him. Clearing his throat, he smiled back. Hi, Hope. “Jake, yous is up!” She bounced and clapped her hands together. She climbed up on the bed and sat there.* Yes, I am up. Checking the clock it was seven thirty. Are you ok? Where is your mommy? Hope pointed out the door “Mommy food.” He chuckled It smells good. She nodded her head. “We go playings now?” She smiled more and Jake could not help but grin at her. How about after breakfast we can go to the park. Does that sound good? She clapped her hands Yes! Yes! Yes! She bounced on the bed “Hope!” Janie called out for her. She is in here Janie. “Mommy, I hear Jake.” Hope called out. Janie popped her head in “Jake. I'm so very sorry. I did not know she was going to get in here and wake you up.” Hope pointed “Jake ups mommy." Jake chuckled It’s okay. I am used to being wakened up by Drake when he stays over. Hope looked at Jake. “Dake?” Janie came over to pick up Hope Drake is a little boy your age. She gasped “We playings? Mommy me playings with Dake?” Jake looked at Janie Err.. I will speak to your daddy about that. Hope nodded and pushed on her mommy's my chest till she put her down, she raced off. “Jake, I’m still sorry she woke you up. On a good note, Maxim and Malina can stop pacing the house. They wanted to come check on you, but they didn’t want to wake you up. Jake laughed Will you tell them I will be out in a few? Need to wake up fully. Janie nodded. I will. She smiled and left the room, shutting the bedroom door. Jake looked around and wiped his face. Looking at the other side of the bed, he sighed and went to get ready.

    Walking out of his room, Jake was showered and dressed ready for the day. He had even called Tim to check up on him and was asked a hundred and one questions. Jake did not mind, he knew Tim has been concerned for him. Jake told Tim he would visit him tonight. Treading into the living room, Jake watched Maxim pace. "Will you sit down already. He will be right out Janie said.” Malina said. Here I am. Good morning to both of you. Maxim stopped pacing and nodded “Good morning, Jake.” Malina laughed. "See I told you. Good Morning, Jake.” Maxim growled at her and Jake chuckled. I’m fine Maxim. I slept and showered. Maxim rose a brow at Jake. Yes, I’m going to eat and go to work tonight. No drinking I promise. You could see Maxim relax a little in his posture. Jake passed on them both a smile and walked into the kitchen. "Jake!” Hope slammed into his legs. Hello, little one. He picked her up. Good morning, Janie. Do you need any help? Janie shook her head. "Nope, I am finished. Your guard Malina already asked. But thank you.” No problem. It also smells great. I am starving. I can see now I was not taking good care of myself. He felt a little embarrassed for that, but it was honest. His mate was dead never coming home and he didn’t take it well at all. "Jake, that is normal. Losing a mate is not good at all. It’s heartbreaking and it aches. I’m happy you are here.” Zane didn’t give me a choice actually. It was come here on my own will or I’m guessing being carried out. He told Janie and sat Hope down on her feet carefully. "Yes, Zane can be like that when he wants something.” Jake gave her a slight smile. “Let’s sit and eat. Then we can speak more.” Hope pointed to her chair. "Hungry mommy.” Jake picked her up and sat Hope in her chair. “Jake would your guards like to eat?” I’ll ask them. Going into the living room he asked his guards. Are you two hungry for breakfast? Maxim nodded and stood from the sofa. "I’m constantly hungry.” Malina laughed "No thank you. I ate at home but thank you.” Nodding, Jake and Maxim headed to the table. Just Maxim Janie. Maxim sat and Jake helped Janie even though she attempted to say no. They both sat and all of them began to get food and talk. Malina came over to join in the talking. So I told Hope I would take her to the park after breakfast. Will Max be joining us? He asked taking another bite of his food. His tummy was growling lightly. "Max should be here shortly. He normally comes around now. After he and Sarah have breakfast and say bye. Jake nodded. Would you like to come with us, Janie? “Thank you, Jake, but I have a few matters I need to handle. I am glad you will be taking Hope. She doesn’t like errands, she likes to play. Hope shook her head. “No like Jake.” Everyone laughed. Then I will be happy to take her till you are finished. Will keep my mind off things. “Are you sure Jake? You do not have to.” No, I want to. I feel like I have not spent much time with her. So you do what you have to do and she will be just fine. Janie smiled. “Thank you, Jake.” Jake smiled back. You’re welcome. The talking fell a little, then picked up. Jake offered to clean up and would not let Janie say no. When they were all finished, Janie went and got Hope ready for the park. Max showed up and was filled in with the park and Hope to spend time with Jake. Soon after the kitchen was cleaned and Hope's bag was packed and they were all leaving to head to the park.

    Arriving at the park, Hope was just a bundle of excitement. She was bouncing in her car seat clapping her hands. Jake smiled sitting next to her. “Hurry Jake.” Hope yelled as he unbuckled her seat. Max was chuckling and his guards Melina and Maxim were getting things out the back. Getting out, Jake grabbed Hope so she could not run off. Once they were out the parking lot he put her down and she ran off. Jake chased her and watched her go up and slide down on the slide. Smiling Jake thought of Drake. He loved to play on the playground. He was so cute with it just like Hope now. Getting on the play set, he chased and laughed with her. Picking her up he sat her on the swing and carefully pushed her. Max stayed close and so was Maxim. Malina kept walking around, he guessed to do a check and make sure everything was okay. Hearing the ice cream truck Hope almost jumped off the swing. Catching her he laughed “Ice cream Jake, pwease!” Jake nodded his head carrying her over to the truck. Alright, Hope pick which ice cream you want. She carefully looked at the pictures and pointed to the princess's ice cream with the bubble gum in the middle of it. Good choice Hope. Jake got her the one she wanted and he got soft serve vanilla dipped in chocolate. Turning to the guards Do you guys want ice cream? Of course, Maxim got ice cream and Max. They both ordered soft serve and Malina got the soft serve in a cup. Paying they all took their ice creams and walked over to sit on the bench. The weather was nice. Blue skies, not a cloud in sight. Making small talk with everyone. Jake helped Hope with her ice cream and tried to explain what gum was to her. She ended up throwing it at Max. “Now Hope what did mommy and daddy tell you about throwing?” Max spoke up and Hope giggled at him “It not nice. Sorry, Max.” She gave him a smile and went on eating her ice cream. She sure is a handful. Max nodded “It’d never dull with Hope.” Jake laughed and Hope laughed just to laugh which made everyone laugh. Me sleepy Jake. Hope’s face was covered with ice cream, she looked too cute. Going in the bag that was given, Jake pulled out wipes. Let’s get you cleaned up then we will go home and you can take a nap. She nodded, she had been playing for a few hours now. Maxim before we head home can we stop at the store? I think we should get some groceries. Maxim nodded. Hope was asleep in Jakes' arms. “I'll stay in the hummer with Hope.” Oh good. She is sleeping I do not want to wake her. Carrying Hope to the hummer he carefully put her in her seat and got her strapped in. Everyone got in and they headed to the food store before going home.
