I have had enough with this. A run was in order until something was going to happen. I promised Slade that I would not go looking for my mate until the morning with the others. With a witch involved, there was no being a hero. I hated it, but I knew he was right. I went home, showered and ate dinner the best I could. Walking out my front door, I stripped my clothes and laid them on the chair for later. Moving away from my home, I let my shift come and ran into the woods. I missed her. We've missed her. What if she was already gone? I would not feel it since we are not mated. I could not bare the thought of losing her. I quickly put those thoughts out of my head. I would not go that route again. We will find her and then her and I will have a great life together. Running through the back trail. You could barely see it with your eyes anymore. No one really came this way anymore. It was too deep into the woods. If joggers jogged they all used the new trail. It was closer to town and a little easier. This trail was a mess now, but that is why we liked it. Up and downs, lots of privacy, and the streams were a little deeper to play in. Stopping my run, I sniffed a little deeper and huffed. I smelled something that made my hair stand up all over. Vampire. Quietly following the scent, I came through a clearing and that's when I saw that house I passed on the way home. This house gave me a damn strange feeling. Wanting to get a closer look, I froze when I saw a guy coming out the house arguing with a female, he was definitely a vampire. That must be the witch. Neither one of them looked familiar. The only vampire here was Lily’s vampire, he masked his scent. The male moved to pick up more wood that was in the corner and stopped when he saw me. Should I engage? No! That would put our little firecracker in more danger. I huffed and slowly turned around to walk back into the woods. “Do you think that is one of them?” “Don’t be a damn fool. If it was do you think it would just leave? That’s just some bear roaming around.” The door slammed shut. I wanted to turn around and burst into that home and get my mate. I knew she was in there somewhere. I didn't know the males face and the house was a piece of crap. No one in their right mind would live in it. Plus, if it was them, I knew I would need back up with the witch. I could kill the vampire, but my mate would die at the hands of the witch. I ran back to my place. I shifted and began to pace once I was inside. It was still very early in the morning. Just a few hours before sunrise and meet up with the others. Taking another shower to get the sweat off. I could not sleep so I tried to sit and eat more. When it came time to meet the others at the station. I grabbed my crystal and hurried to my truck, starting it up and hauled ass to the station. I parked and got out seeing I was the first to arrive and waited impatiently.
