I was exhausted by the time I got back to the cabin I could barely keep my head up. Matthew, the enforcer Beck had assigned to me, drove my Jeep to the cabin. “Stay here Mrs. Blackstone and I’ll check things out. If you give me the keys I’ll check the inside as well.” Please, call me Loretta or Lettie. He nodded as I handed him my keys, then he opened the door. “Okay, please wait here, Loretta and I’ll do a quick sweep of the area.” Do you have your crystals? “Yes, I’ve got them. And I made sure to take one home before you had to leave town.” I watched as he got out then locked me inside the vehicle, and made his way around the cabin. I closed my eyes and leaned my head against the door. I wanted to sleep so bad but I had more important things to do before I let sleep claim me. I must have drifted off because I jumped when Matthew tapped the window. “It’s all clear. Let’s get you inside, you look like you could use a good night's rest. I smirked and headed inside, pulling my phone from my bag. I went to the programmed numbers and hit the one I wanted. It didn’t take long for Thomas to answer.* “It’s about time you called. I can feel your energy is waning. Are you alright?” I put my head on the door jam and sighed. I’m fine, just a bit tired. I did too many spells in a short period of time. I need to sleep but I needed to call. I’m going to need the coven to get to McGregor, North Dakota as soon as you can. Call as soon as you get outside the town. I’ve put up a protection spell and you won’t be able to get inside. Make sure everyone has a white protection crystal with you. “We’ll be there soon. I had us follow your energy trail.” What? “We’re your coven. We belong with you.” Okay, just call when you are near. I hung up and headed for my room and had just taken off my shoes when my phone rang again. I looked at the phone and saw it was Wade. Picking it up I said. Wade! It's so good to hear from you, is everything alright? “Please tell me Ali is with you.” What? No! How could she be with me and you not know it? What's going on Wade? He explained what James had told him and that he had contacted Demitri. I was relieved to know Dominic was on his way but I was also nervous and a bit frightened. Ali was pregnant and missing. And it seemed she was tapping into her demon side. I told Wade I would go out and look for her and would call him back. He wasn’t happy about it and I knew he wanted to come here and search for himself. I hung up with Wade, put my shoes back on and went outside. Matthew stepped out of the woods. “What happened, why are you out here?” I just got a call from my grandson in law. My granddaughter is missing and she may be outskirts of town . She pregnant and I need to check. He nodded and we headed for my Jeep. “How did she get here? I was told your family and friends didn’t know where you were.” I looked over at him as he drove. My granddaughter is a very powerful witch, panther shifter and demoness. He looked at me, his eyes wide and I knew what he was thinking. No, she’s not the witch we are after. She was home with her bodyguards when she disappeared. And they called me to tell me she was missing. “Bodyguards?” Yes, along with a very pissed off vampire mate. She somehow tapped into the fact that I was tired out from casting so many spells. He looked at me again. “Well , if she’s here, we’ll find her.” He pulled out his phone as he drove and made a call. “Slade, sorry to bother you but we have a situation.” I tuned out the rest as my mind drifted off. I closed my eyes and tried to tap into Ali’s energy but I was too weak. I heard Matthew say something about town hall before he turned to me. “Slade is putting together a search team . If she’s out there we’ll find her.” Yes, we will! I’ll open up a small part of the spell, it will be like a door so you can pass through. We pull in front of the town hall and Matthew turned off the engine. It didn’t take long for Slade and the others to arrive. Slade walked up to me and I told him the same thing I had told Matthew. His eye brows rose as he looked down at me. “Well, let’s get this search started.” He gave the enforcers the information they needed. Everyone got back into their vehicles and we headed to the edge of town so I could open the shield I placed around the town and we were off to find my Ali.
