I finished my shift after talking to Beck. It was all set. Michael was coming home with me but before that, I needed to take him to the store and buy him some clothes. Before we left, Beck talked to the boy, making sure he understood that this was the best thing for him. “I understand alpha! I’ll do my best.” “That’s good son, because I’d hate to send you to Realm headquarters to be put behind bars for the rest of your life or worse.” *Michael’s eyes went wide and he nodded. “Thank you alpha! Beck nodded then got up and left. Come on, Michael. We have a stop to make before we head home. Michael, stood and followed me as I headed to my truck. I’d texted Chloe earlier and told her that I would be heading to get Michael some clothes. My loving mate immediately texted back a list of everything she thought the boy would need. I chuckled, shaking my head at the long list. There was a Mall in the next town over and I headed there, knowing that I’d find everything the boy was going to need. It wasn’t long before I was putting into a parking spot and we were walking into the mall. You can get whatever you see that you like. The boys eyes widened at my words. “I don’t need much and I’ll pay you back as soon as I find a job.” I nodded knowing I wasn’t going to take the kids money, but letting him believe I was good with him paying me back. We moved through the building going to different stores getting him everything Chloe thought he would need. We headed to the Pharmacy and I let him pick out his brand of toothpaste and deodorant along with mouthwash and toothbrush before heading over to get a comb, brush, shampoo and conditioner, making sure to get a few of each so it would last. When you run out of anything just let me or my mate know and we will get more or give you money and you can get it yourself. He nodded as he pushed the cart, his eyes on the floor. I could feel his embarrassment and I really wasn’t sure how to address it. It was going to take some time for the boy to trust us but he would learn in time. Moving to the front of the store, I pulled out my wallet and paid for everything then we left, bags in hand. We stopped by a bench and I looked around to see where to go next. I clapped my hands together then patted him on the back. Okay, let’s get you some clothes! There was a store geared to teens and I could see that Michael wanted to go inside. Stepped up beside him, I nodded towards the store. You want to look around? He shrugged as he watched some kids shopping in the store. “I guess.” I nodded, chuckling to myself before I walked inside. Michael followed and we walked around picking out things for him to try on. Once we got the right sizes I went back and got jeans and shirts then we found socks, underwear, t-shirts pajamas and a housecoat in his size. I paid for everything and we headed to a shoe store. He picked out two pair and some house shoes. It was over and I glad that we wouldn’t have to do a big shopping like this again and if so I’d be sending Chloe to do it. It was quiet on the way home and as I drove up to the house I heard Michael’s intake of breath. He looked at me then back to the house. “You live here?” Yes, why? “It’s so big! Do you have kids?” No! I opened the truck door just as Chloe opened the front door and smiled. “Finally! I was getting worried you were going to buy out all the stores.” I laughed as I moved around to start grabbing bags. Tyler came out of the woods and moved in the help with the bags. Once everything was inside, Tyler said good night and headed home. I kissed my mate and inhaled whatever she was cooking. Something smells good. What room did you give Michael? I’ll help him take his things up before I shower. Chloe helped us bring everything up and she helped put things away while I headed to our room to shower before dinner.

* I went back to the kitchen and made a side dish of Mexican rice. While it cooked, I pulled the enchiladas out of the oven, spread monterey jack cheese over it, sprinkled some freshly cut cilantro on top and then placed back inside for the cheese to melt. I put the salad, salsa and chips out on the table, put down some hot pads for the enchiladas and rice. I spooned the rice into a bowl, placing it on a table. Grabbing the oven mitts, I grabbed the enchiladas and put them on the table. * Vincent! Michael! Suppers ready! * I hollered up the stairs and then filled three glasses up with ice water. I cleaned up around the kitchen while I waited for the males to come down stairs. Soon I was hearing their voices, Vincent had his hand on Michael's shoulder. * "Now Chloe, she knows how to cook a meal. I know she made plenty, so don't be afraid to eat your fill." * I smiled as they reached the bottom step. * I made enough to feed a small army, so please don't be shy or we'll be eating leftovers. * Vincent kissed me and we headed for the table, sitting down side by side. Michael was a little shy at sitting down, but then the chair moved out and Vincent nodded towards it and Michael relented. * "Do we pray or something?" * I reached for the salad. * If praying is something you do, then by all means lets pray. If it's not, then we just serve ourselves and enjoy! * He grinned reached for the rice and spooned a big helping on his plate, then moved to the enchiladas. Vincent and I both smirked and started filling our plates too. *
ReplyDeleteDinner went well, Chloe and I talked about her day tomorrow. Michael, I’d like Chloe to get you signed up for school tomorrow. What do you think? Michael’s head snapped up and he looked at both of us. “Really, school? I went back home but not here.” Chloe smiled at him. “Would you like to go to school?” He didn’t speak right away as he went back to eating. I finished the last of my meal and stood to get a beer from the refrigerator. Chloe, why don’t we give him a day. I have the day off and I’ll get him enrolled. She looked down and nodded. You can come with, mate. I just think it would be better for us to do it. That way Tyler can patrol instead of going with you. I opened my beer as Chloe started cleaning up. To my surprise Michael stood and started helping her. He saw my surprise and shrugged. “I used to help my mother when I was younger. I kind of miss helping like this.” Chloe grinned and I stood back and watched, drinking my beer. It didn’t take long for them to finish and once they were finished I headed to the alarm and set it. Michael we will get you set up with the alarm in a few days. But for now don’t open any windows or doors leading outside unless the system is off. He nodded and we headed upstairs.
ReplyDeleteShould we get the tags and stickers off all your clothes and get them in the washer? * I asked Michael as the three of us walked up the stairs. * "Yeah, that would be good. I should be able to run the washer and dryer as long as their not too fancy." * Vincent chuckled. * "Well if you can figure it out then your doing better than I am." * We went to his room and the three of us went through his clothes removing all the tags and stickers. I ran and got a couple of baskets and we separated his jeans from his permanent press. * Come on Michael, I'll show you where the washer is. * I grabbed one of his baskets and he grabbed the other. Vincent picked up the various bags and followed us out. The washer and dryer was in the mud room on the main level so he followed me back downstairs. I placed the basket on the floor. * Okay, what do you want to wash first? * Michael shrugged and started stuffing jeans into the washing machine, closing the door when he was done. * "Okay, what do I do next? * I showed him how to pick which cycle to go with certain loads. * This washer will automatically decide how much soap and fabric softener to use and dispense it. So you just need to pick the cycle to go with what you're washing. * He nodded. * "Sounds simple enough." * I moved to the dryer. * When you put them in the dryer, I always leave it set to heavy duty load. Unless it's a special item that needs low heat. "Okay." * I smiled. * Okay, you're all set! If you need any further help, don't hesitate to ask. We walked past the kitchen. Feel free to eat something anytime you need too. I try to keep a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, but if there is anything in particular that you like, I'll get it for you if you ask when I shop. We headed back upstairs and Vincent met us in the hallway. I smiled at my mate. * I'm gonna go shower. * Vincent nodded and I told Michael good night. I could hear Vincent telling Michael more about the house as I walked off. * "Our room is that way, knock and wait for an answer before entering." * I laughed and shook my head. Leaving them to their male bonding time. *
