* I set in the cafe contemplating my next move with +Meghan Danvers. I was still so angry with her, but deep down I knew I wouldn't be able to walk away from her. Gawds she held my heart in the palm of her hand. I heard someone clear their throat and looked up. Margaret set down a piece of warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream on top of it. She refilled my coffee and smiled. * "You looked like you needed a little something to take your mind off what's going through that mind of yours." * I smirked. * Thank you, Margaret. I suppose I do. "I don't mean to pry, but....sometimes its just easier to swallow your pride and follow your heart. We all make mistakes." * I nodded and Margaret walked off. I picked up my fork and began to eat the pie and ice cream. Taking sips of my coffee between bites. It was mouthwatering. I took the last bite just as my phone rang. I looked at the screen and Mrs. Danvers name popped up on the screen. I stood up, stuffing my hand in my pocket, I through $10 on the table. I grabbed my phone and coat and walked out as I answered my phone. * Hello Mrs. Danvers. "I swear to you Ian, I raised my Meghan better than that. I don't know what go into her." * I chuckled. * I take it she told you what she did? "Yes she did and I'm appalled, ashamed even. You can't leave her Ian. Please, put my mind to rest and tell me you aren't leaving her. I promise not to get in the middle of this, but I won't be able to enjoy the Caribbean not knowing if my baby is okay." * I leaned against my pickup. Mrs. Danvers was quiet waiting for my response. * I'm not going to leave her. We'll be fine, it's just going to take a little time. * I heard her breathe a sigh of relief. * "Thank you, Ian. I know she loves you very much." And I love her, I just have to figure out how to let go of this anger. But I promise, we will be fine. "Merry Christmas, Ian. Thank you for loving my daughter." Merry Christmas, Mrs. Danvers. * I disconnected the call and chuckled to myself. Jumping into my pickup I headed and home. *
